most of my pack are catahoula, i have never had one throw a joint out, about medium range, grittyness varies on the dog, my five year old male is gritty as heck but my one year old female stays back and bays... I think they are great dogs but I also have BMC's and some crosses of other breeds...

We run and breed mostly cats...we have never had any of our dogs through any part of their body out. Our cats range in grittiness too. I've had some that would bay their heads off and never put a tooth on a hog, some that can win buckles in a bay pen and go out in the woods and find a hog just as good as my other dogs(or better) and i also have a cat that is straight all-out solid catch. We love our cats!!! We do run one bmc and a ridgeback( for catch). Most of our cats are short to med. but i have a gyp right now that will get out and hunt pretty far and her brother would take a track and work it out like a hound(a little slow and very accurate) Our cats will stay with a hog too....they will run it till their pads bleed if you dont catch them. Good luck! Mrs.Kbar
