Well i think I may have broke myself from sucking eggs.  LOL But I doubt it. After working on my wifes front porch all day I got the itch to make a run. I went by myself AGAIN , and thought I would make a lazy mans hunt and just try and do a little dog training and trash breaking and ride in the truck and cast the dogs. Well I went to a few places and ended up empty handed . It was 12:30pm and I thought I would try one last spot. I dumped the dogs down and started ridding.  The dogs all disappeared and it wasn’t but a few minutes I heard my old dog Boots fire. The other dogs make it to him and it breaks . Well its off to the races as usual. After they run him for a while it heads to the river and and crosses. It gets quite and all the dogs cross and start zig zagging back and forth. ( Yes my dogs bark a little on track ) . After working it a few minutes my 3 older dogs come back across and start backtracking and coming back to me. Just about that time 2 of my younger dogs start back up and roll out. I thought to myself  “ I’ll be dang the young dogs just showed up the old dogs “ well I let them work it for a while and try to get closer to em on the rhino. The closest I could get was 800 yards. So I turned my 3 older dogs back out to em and they made it there and helped pick up the track. . They finally all showed bayed at .75 miles away.  No way for me to get to em but head out on foot.  I look at the time on my phone and it was 3:15 am.  So I Unload De’Angelo and we headed to em. Got about half way there and it get quit. Im thinking dang it it done broke. So I whoop out the garmin and it still shows em all bayed .  So I knew they must have been caught.  I get down to 400 yards and it get so thick that I could literally could not stand up. I had to get down on my hands and knees and tear my way thru. Me and De’Angelo were getting hung up and it was a SLOOOWW go. It took me about 45 minutes to get the last 400 yards. Finally made it to em and turned De’Angelo loose and it was a caught hog.  After I got it stuck I tried to get a few pictures but I was huffen and puffen and every time I would take a picture it would be all foggy. The curs had both ears torn off and De’Angelo had it caught on the back of the neck right behind his head. After the adrenalin rush was over I was so exhausted I thought I was gonna throw up.  Now the only problem was I have to get back out of this thick stuff. When I finally got back to my truck it was 5:30 am.  Man I was Exhausted ! ! !   I thought my dogs done purty good not to be “Phenomenons “ .  They stayed on him for about 2 hrs running and then another 2 hrs baying/catching. My wife called me at 6:00 am worried and wondering something had done happened to me.  When I got home she said it looked like I had been in a Mexican bar fight from being all cut up from the briars and thorns. LOL .  She said she just didn’t understand it. Why someone would do this to themselves . I just smiled and said it’s an obsession. She wasn’t happy that I done this alone. I told her I couldn’t leave my dogs hanging. She said Well they would have came back . LOL

Been ther before myself. It always starts off as just a short hunt by youself but usually ends up several hours later. When you set back and think about it it's really crazy to be going by yourself.

Man that sounds like a long rough hunt.....but the dogs put some pork at the end and that's what counts.  Grin
