I've been working like a Hebrew slave here lately, but we had my daughters 1st birthday party today out in Liverpool and after the guests left me and my bro in law decided to Barr some of the hogs in the trailer. Well after the first few were done we had two of them decide to make a break for it. When Matt open the door to get another one, this big sow rushed him popped the door and took off with her piglet right behind her. They ran straight for the woods then for reason unknown to me decided to just hang out. Well being a birthday par and all, I didn't have my dogs with me I i grabbed the next best thing, mymother in laws chow and Matts gimpy legged mini heeler We had to point the chows face in the right direction but as soon as the piglet made a run for it, Sadie and Levi were in HOT pursuit!! They kept getting it but were not sure whether or not they were allowed to catch it. Long story short, the chow finally got a bite, right on the ear, and let me tell you, that was a caught hog! We got the pig back in the trailer and figured momma was long gone but as we were continuing the castration, we heard a distant squeal! The heeler was helping us clean up the mountain oysters but the dang chow was no where to be seen. I finished what I was doing and headed to the squeal, sure enough it was Sadie! She had trailed the sow close to 300 yrds, caught her and had herself tuckedup tight to the body ![Shocked](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) This dog ain't never been anything but a porch dog but I spenthe rest o the evening measuring her for a devastator vest ![Wink](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Yeah and the coolest part was Amandas mom wasn't just ok with it, she was, dare I say, PROUD !!! that yellow chow with blood on her face and fire in her eyes was a sight to see! Just goes to show how almost any breed has a desire to please the master.

Great story T-Bob! I think you need to shave her before getting those measurements though. ![Cheesy](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I had a neighbor that owned a chow. I couldnt stand that dog but it loved me anyway. I was bow hunting one morning in a stand about 1/4 mile from the house that I had walked to from the back porch. I listened then watched that dog trail me strait to the tree I was in. ![Shocked](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) That trail was better than 4 hours old. She couldnt see me but knew I was up there and wouldnt leave. I was pissed and impressed at the same time.

It was pretty cool but if i ever took her to the woods on purpose, my mom in law would tan my hide. ![](http://www.easttexashogdoggers.com/forum/Smileys/default/police.gif) They have a longhorn heifer that gets a lil snooty from time to time and I've seen Sadie put her on the fence a time or two, but this was the first time to my knowledge she's ever used her teeth.
