Well I turned out close to a bedding area this morning and my dog, little-girl, ran in about 400 yards and opened up.  I eased in and saw that it was a small hog, 130-150 lbs., before any help could get there the hog broke.  By the time the dogs had stopped it, it grew.  My yellow dog, Green, ran in and tried to catch and he ended up taking a tusk through the back of the mouth.  No more Green... I've been pretty fortunate not to lose many dogs, but I lost a good one this morning.
