Get you a Garmin Astro 220! They dont have the range as some of the others but are very nice. The first time that you dont lose a good dog it will pay for itself!

Spend the money and get a Garmin.  I had my best dog get punched in the jugular vein last Tuesday while on a good boar.  He tried to make it back to the truck and collapsed at a creek.  I got the hog, found him in about ten minutes bleeding out.  I put pressure on the wound while carrying him out and then rushed him to the vet.  He is making a full recovery.  If I would have had my old beep beep system, I would have lost him for sure.

I have had the Garmin for about two months.  It has saved us countless hours getting to bayed dogs and finding dogs after the hunt is over.

I agree....Garmin no doubt. I think that there's a 320 coming out that you might want to check on. Get the DC40 collars.....the 30s will soon be obsolete and the 40s work better and have longer battery life by far. If you want to do like most of us do....back up the Garmin with a regular radio system....plain old beep beep stuff like we've had for years. New collars are about $125. I use Johnson...there are others just as good I'm sure. You can get a programmable scanner off ebay for a receiver and your ready to go. Run both collars on your dog and you're as safe as you can be. Garmin has revolutionized hog hunting by being able to 'see' what's going on with the dogs, no more wondering. Get maps on the micro SD card and you're set.

I have hunted with alot of guys that had Garmins and they are nice when they are working. Too many times I have seen them just quit working.

The Wildlife is more trouble but it never fails.
