Dont have a jagd yet but mets some guys from PA that do, I have 1/2 jack russell 1/4 great dane/14 pit I want to cross with. By the way it was a male jack russell that studded a 1/2 pit 1/2 great dane. This dog trees coon without ever being trained and trees them silent. its pretty awesome.

swish that is heck of a cross, what size of dog did you end up with. Did the Jack increase the prey drive?

I heard from a guy in Oklahoma that crossed some direct import jagd to a plotthound and said they made real robust dogs.  Never heard much other than that.  I think he might of said hogs killed them that went to hog hunters.

I thought a long time about it and made the same cross April 15.  I took our best cold nosed fast running plott, a blue female of about 35 pounds and bred her to my best baydog jagdterrier, a 2o pound dog.  I hope the breeding takes.  I have no idea what i just did, but both parents have lots of hunt and stick.  Some posts and pics about the male have been made here last summer by JHY, the dog's name is Squirt.   The blue plott is "Star" and I have posted photos of her under my name here as well.

I heard about one over on this forum.  I asked for pics of a GSP and Jagd cross.  No doubt it would not be as cold nosed as Goatcher, but I am sure silent until the bay or catch is my guess.

It is one heck of a dog. Its size is bigger but its a family yard dog so we wont train it for pig. I trapped a coon last summer for my buddy to train a black and tan pup and that jack russel "Peanut" tore that coon limb from limb. We want to stud something to her with a better nose than a cur like a jagd.

p.s. i will try to post some pics of peanut soon

Swish, you could probably use my jagd to cross with. All I'd ask is if the pups don't turn out to remove them from the gene pool.

Sounds like a jammin cross.  Dog should hunt hard.  I bought a Deutsch Drathaar (the original wire haired pointer, similar to the GSP) from tested fur gettin lines last year.  My plans in future may include something like this.
