Our bunch made the 2 1/2 hour drive out west to Flatonia this morning where we were joined by Mr. Black Gold... Cody Weiser. The dogs got on a race shortly into the hunt and they kept baying and breaking. A few of us grabbed a couple of catchdogs and headed their way. My young Reeses dog shot off in the woods to our right and bayed up a huge group of hogs. They went to rallying and we cut Clifford and Jug loose. We saw at least 40 hogs run by and Clifford "one-outed" a good sow right in front of us. Got her tied and headed to the next bay... the cur dogs came off on a small boar in a dry creek bed. Got re-grouped and it wasn't long before we were in another race and caught a small sow. It was warming up quick, so we loaded the dogs and headed across the road to another property where the landowners still had feeders running. Got to the backside of it and the dogs bayed up again on a nice boar. Caught and tied him and headed out. The boar went 230# and the sow went 180# on the scales... the other two were about 75# and 50#. It was a good time with good friends. Cody, i'm glad we finally got to hunt and we'll do it again soon. Laura and I had a great time, I wish she could make it more often. Were glad we stayed and went across to the other property. Thanks again.

Good times guys and gals. I just wish all our hunts would go as well as this one. Great weather, decent hogs, and easy hunting country is hard to beat.

I really appreciated the invite. I've known many of you for the past couple of years, but this was the first hunt with ya'll and it was truly a pleasure! Like Chris said.....Good people mixed with good hunting is a combination I love to be part of. I really hope to make it again with ya'll. This time I tested the water....Next time I'll bring some 4-legged partners to join in the excitement....Cant let the East Texas dogs have all the fun!...Gotta let some of the Coastal Bend dogs get in on the action!  Mike, Really loved getting to see Clifford in action....I also know you gotta be proud of Reeses....Striking that big group solo and then passing up that gilt to run down that boar in the open.....Better hold on to that gem! Today some acqaintances became friends....GOOD TIMES!!! |

Cody, I was real proud of Reeses today. She's right at the age where the light turns on and has been doing real well lately.
I wish I would have had a video camera rolling... she is fast.

Cody, it was nice to get to hunt with you, look forward to the next time. Hearing that rally was something I won't forget anytime soon, without a doubt the most hogs I have ever heard at one time. Good hunt today guys, really nice weather, good friends and good hogs caught. I gotta start gettin in on some of these pics, ole ladys gonna think I'm fibbin  Matt |

good job guys ....sounds like a great day....maybe i should throw the keys in this ranch house out here, pack my bags, lock the door and head east.....it just sounds like the good ole days , back when california guys would swap hunts , and invite others to come along....just dont happen like that anymore.....HEY MIKE THANX FOR TALKING TO MY OLE PARTNER JOHN TODAY....HE SOUNDED REAL EXCITED AND LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE----------HE'S AS GOOD AS GOLD.
