We went after that big no-eared hog this morning, but ended up on another good boar instead. Matt, Sean, Harry and I met Lawrence and Joey at Lawrence's family's ranch in Waller County. About 5 minutes into the hunt, Blue opened up and then Chunk got there and they were bayed solid. We drove a little closer and I sent Cheyenne in to help them. We got right to the bay at the edge of a thicket with Sean leading the way. Harry and Matt got right in behind him and the boar charged! They were tangled up in vines and couldn't move, luckily the boar cut off about 5 feet in front of them and scared the piss out of them! Shocked Y'all should have seen the look on their faces! Grin

In the commotion Harry turned BB loose and we took off after them. He ran about 100 yards or so before they stopped him again. I saw BB hit and the hog was tossing him around, so I sent Clifford in and they anchored him. Matt and I got him flipped and I gave Lawrence my knife to stick him. He was smiling from ear to ear. Grin

He went 310# on the scales and his tusks were right at 3 inches. Should score over 600 WWT. Awesome quick hunt and not one scratch on the dogs. This was Matt's biggest hog caught with dogs, so he is going on his wall!

Good times with good friends and a great hog!  You boys correct me here but I think he is #5 in the US and #1 in Texas for Low Fence weight class!!!!  What thats worth at the end of the day I don't know but I sure had fun catching him. Grin  Lets go do it again haha.

Yeah that was a great little hunt! to answer a few questions: yes i was scared when that boar rushed out at me, but it happened so fast i didn't have time to be as scared as i should have been, lol. yes i got some video, but it's not very good. i will try to work on it and see what i can salvage from it. i might try to slow motion it to see if it looks any better. but considering the guy with the gun was behind me, and the fact that i was rushed by a 310lb. boar(at 8 feet away, he might as well have been 500lbs!), i make no apologies Cheesy. to give a pretty good idea of this hog size, i wanted to post this. here he is in the front bucket of a John Deere tractor Shocked

Sam, you need to quit that job!!!! Between us catching all the hogs and your daddy shootin' all the deer... you're missing all the fun! Tongue

Clint, i've got a few old t-shirts that I always wear while running the dogs... this one always brings good luck! Wink

I am SO excited for you guys! I knew he was huge from talking to you on the phone, but the photos are better! You  just can't explain how mean and ugly he looks on a phone line. Those teeth really made him that much better than I had already envisioned him.

You guys have been holding out on us! I want to know where that beautiful green "hog getter" has been all the times we've been hunting with yall. I know you probably don't bring it along because it won't fit with your four wheeler on the trailer. I think maybe you need to get a bigger trailer so that it can come carry out our hogs next time we hit the woods. I know the bucket only fits one trophy boar hog, but I bet it would carry plenty of sows and bar B Q boars :O)
