"One Out" Presa Canario's

here is a couple pics of my "one out" presa canario's. "Zen" the brown brindle is 10mnths old and 90lbs. he is super athletic. He can run and go all night long and never tires, and has a great prey drive. "Gage" the black brindle is almost 11mnths and is 110lbs. he is very athletic and has a great prey drive as well. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful dogs for sure.

Never owned one or hunted with one, but hear horror stories of them being so dog aggressive?  Do you have to deal with that?

"one-out" is fine if you want to go that style, but what if it all hits the fan with a big boar and you need to turn both dogs loose to handle it.....can they work together to catch the boar without getting on each other?  Just curious....love the muscle mass they have.....

Dog aggression can be a factor if they are not socialized from an early stage. Ours however are not dog aggressive at all. Obideince is a must. Ours all have formal obideice training. It is easier to bring out there prey drive and controll the aggression if you have complete controll of your dogs. Its like an "ON/OFF" switch. We train our dogs in the "One Out" style as well as together. This is just what I prefer because its more of a challange for me and my dogs. They love the challage of a big one. As you can see from the pics Zen is smaller and faster and more agile than Gage, but they both or extremely athletic and strong as bulls. I would love to bring em down one weekend so you can see just how they handle and work together, with each other and your dogs.  You can check out the lin below to see a basic page of my website. I've got a few places around here to hunt.  You drive to Hallettsville and I'll take you and your dogs hunting.  I'd like to see them find and hold a big boar "one-out".....Would be a good time.....

Yes they do. Check this link out. These dogs have the same pedigree as mine.
You don't see to many people using them in the US because of the cost, a good dog goes for $2500. Im the 2nd kennel in the US that is willing to use them for what these dogs were originally breed for, to hunt and catch. As a new kennel I'm trying to expose them for what they are, THE BEST. Call me anytime so we can chat about my dogs. They have an unmatched prey drive, and physical ability. You will not be disapointed.

what is the advantage of these dogs over an american bulldog? Do you have any pictures of your dogs catching?

Who was the first Kennel? I know folks that have been trying these dogs out for over the past 10 years out in South Carolina. Dixie War Dogs had a few that they ran back in the old Catch Trial days.  Dont remember any of them winning or placing for that matter.  Point being theyre not as fast as a good bulldog, but they are good looking animals nonetheless.

Now there's a statement that will fluff some feathers.  MikeA......we all have different ways we go about hunting hogs with dogs.  Different folks use different styles, breeds of dogs, training methods, and so on.....
Definately a TON of different ways to go into the woods with dogs and come out with hogs.  The people here on ETHD love to discuss and see everyone's adventures and methods, but using words like "BEST" can be a slap in the face to many.  What's best for you might not work for the next guy.....
Just giving you heads up.  Everyone would love to see your dogs work and catch, but try to come across a little more smoothly and you will get a much better response.

Can I please see a picture of THE BEST on a wild hog? Several Google searches have not turned up a single one.

They are nice looking dogs, however, judging by the available pictures of these particular dogs, I'd be amazed if they had the speed/agility to stop a free range hog on their own.  No doubt they could hold, but being able to stop one is the question.  The Gage dog shows the typical "mastiff" rear end, built for torque, not speed... hard to say on Zen.

I would love to see some free range action shots when you get the chance!

Hey Mike - I think if you look at the tone of the responses you've gotten from your posts here there are LOTs of good guys willing to help you test and train your dogs on hogs.  You are in far west Texas, and as such ETHDs does not have (yet) a big following out there.   But - you've gotten polite, helpful responses for the most part.  Several of your posts were basically asking for help to get your dogs EXPOSED to hogs.   Now you announce that they have "THE BEST" prey drive, best catch ability can be considered "one out" dogs and you plan to breed them for use as hog dogs? 

My advice is take is slow, listen to the good advice you're being given - take guys up on their offers to help before you announce that your dogs are the best because of some dogs they have in their pedigree, and you want to jump right to breeding/selling dogs?   

You'll lose folks fast with this approach. 

I mean NO DISRESPECT here.
