Sorry guys it is a diesel 6.4 4x4 08 f250! It is an auto and it doesnt say the rear end gear ratio (but i think its the 4.30:1) and not a dually! I have tried to find stuff online but it gives me anywhere from 11-21 mpg i was wanting to get some real info on it.

the rear end should be a 373... A friend of mine spent about 1500 dollars on one just like it and he now gets about 18 mpg in town and 23 mpg on the hiway.

He installed a K&N air filter and a computer chip with programmer and also cut the muffler out and put on a straight exhaust pipe.

His F-250 runs like a scalded ape... He raced a guy who had a maxima with accessaries and he smoked him on the quarter mile by 3 car lengths. He has a lift kit with wide tires and he had all four tires smokin...I would have bet all my money on the maxima because my wife has one and I know what they can do.

I already have a chip and programmer with the K&N but am getting the muffler cut out for 185 dollars. Mine is a super duty f-350 with the 7.3 diesel 4x4.

I've got an '08. Had to put a new motor in it at 48,000 miles. Hasn't been a dependable truck. I have bought several used 7.3s and that's what I'm driving right now cause they're invincible. I think you have to get DPF Delete Kit to do anything to the exhaust on that truck. I've been wanting to do some stuff to mine now that the warant is up.

I would not recomend a 6.0 or a 6.4 to anyone. They are absolute junk. I was going to buy one of the new 6.7s but I talked myself out of it. I want to see how they're still doing in a couple years. You just can't go wrong with finding a good used 7.3. We've got several 7.3s that are going on 400k miles and dont use a drop of oil. Have been pulling HEAVY trailers and idle all day since they were bran new.

The main problem with the 6.4s is the radiators. I have put 4 radiators in mine. 2 sets of EGR coolers, 4 sets of injectors, a starter, and it's only got 80,000 miles on it and my wife drives it to work everyday. With our business, we have bought about 10 6.0s (Blew the motor up in every single one of them) and two 6.4s (blew the motors up in both of them). We have had probly 40 or more 7.3s and maybe had to change a motor in 2 of them. Got several we bought bran new in 95 that are still going wide open everyday.

LOL... the 7.3 was the last of the good ones. as far as the late model diesels go I would do a dodge as long as you live in a county that doesnt do the emmisions inspection on. that way you can do a delete kit on the particulate filter and egr. the fords and chevys now require exhaust fluid that is pretty costly.

I have had the 7.3 the 6.4 and the 6.0. 7.3 is invincible and the other ones are just plain pitiful. I think when international found out the contract wasn't going to be renewed they put out some crap. Has far has a diesel from 03 to 10 get a dodge but the 11 ford is some kind of powerful and the 7.3 is the king of diesels but they are 03 and older. Just never ever ever ever buy a chevy unless all you want to do is ride to walmart and back

6.4 will get u 15-18 on avg. I been working on ford diesels since the 6.9 in the 80's  the first couple years of each eng had it's problems. I don't like the 6.4 it was a bandaid eng so ford could meet emissions till the new 6.7 got though R&D. If I was gonna buy used I would buy a  99-2002 7.3 or a 05-07 6.0. If you buy a 6.0 and spend the 3000$ to stud the heads and delet the egr cooler you'll have a bad ass diesel that will get ya over 20 mpg.
