I had some pups up for trade the other day a group of kids called and wanted 4. When they showed up there were three of em and they had a buddie at home that wanted one.  I trade pups for dog food especially when they are young and trying to get started huntin. The dogs are BMC/lacy crosses the pups dad had some anger problems so I was gonna get him fixed but before I did I bred him to one of my better females. He's a awesome dogs so I figured it was worth a shot to breed him and hope for the best. Well today I look at the board and see cat/lacy crosses from the same person I give the pups to same age my pups would be same sex just one short of what I give them. I text him and ask if he was sellin the pups I gave then oh no this is a differnt litter! I ask for pictures of the pups without any response. I may be wrong but seems to me like some kids trying to make a dollar! Claude Ard style!!!

That's exactly wut they're doing. But now u made a deal: pups for dog food. Technically They own those dogs and can so with them wut they choose. Be careful who deal with and the price u put on it.  Don't get discouraged. There r Good people out there that deserve a deal like u offer but there r a few that don't. U did a good deed and should sleep good knowing u helped a cull human

See I definatly agree with you... I am 20 years old, married and have three children, ages 2 1/2, 1 1/2 and 6 weeks old, I guess I grew up alot with having children young and everything but I would never do what they did, I may buy 5 or 6 puppies and keep them a few months see which ones have the best potential and then thin out but I would give the previous owner buy back options first but not right after I got them... im talking about months if not a year down the road depending on the age of the puppies...

You had BMC/Lacy pups. This guy is advertising Catahoulas/lacy pups. Are you sure they are the same?

Before you get defensive, I would tend to agree that they are being passed off for a profit.

I could be completely wrong about this 100% wrong. The pups are black with little white on toes and chest and cats can come numbers of ways.
Like I say I may be wrong but why would anyone want 7 week old puppies if they already have 7 week old puppies?
If they can prove me wrong I will offer deepest appoligies and buy them a sack of dog food!

Looking to upgrade perhaps?

Maybe this kid ( who now everyone has seen his dog trade add) would put some pup pics of what you gave him, next to what he is selling all in the same pic. If he doesn't do that, well just assume he's related to John Meyers.  Wink

Well it gets to a point  to where you don't  want to help anyone. The old timers would breed keep what they needed and cull the rest.

I am a young person too but recently traded a good pit/bordercollie for a pit and when I gave her to him she was pregnant with my pit. But after She had the pups I saw him selling the pups as aussie/collie and his catahoula .

Please don't take this the wrong way but......
I can understand how you must feel since you gave them a heck of a break since they were kids....but unless you specified that you wanted the dogs back if they changed their minds down the road at some point. Then, I feel like once you give or sell something to someone. It is theirs to do as they please, no matter what. The way I look at it is if I give or sell something, its because I didn't want it and it becomes the new owners responsibility and freedom to do with as they see fit.

Thats why if there is a bloodline that I want to keep or protect from getting into the wrong hands, I would make sure that it went to a relative or very close friend.  JMO  Smiley

I guess this kinda goes along with " dogo vs pit " type topics..... you cant judge them all by a handfull you have seen.....
Theres probably just as many " older " people that will do the exact same thing....

Too many " Claud Ards " out there...  Undecided

There are some good young people out there and on this board. I gave a pup away to a young guy on the ETHD Dog Trade and he really appreciated the pup. All that I asked of him was to keep me updated on how the pup was doing and he kept up with his end of the deal.  JT
