This is to highlight those dogs that have had several, more than one, offspring that have made lead strike dogs.  Not mediocre dogs but really good dogs.  Info, pictures, and stories are welcomed.  This might help with ones breeding choices.  Good dogs are hard to find.  Most dogs are not worth breeding to and a few can't be bred to enough.  All colors are welcomed.

Mikes Tweety dog has been a proven reproducer, as were Winchester dogs momma Bell, and that combo crossed I thought was fantastic.

This is Ten Dollars.  The best $10 investment I ever made.  Ruff as they come on cows, hogs, or strangers.  Mother to my lead strike dog and the #2 dog of YBMs.  She will put the heart in the pups and has thrown some really awesome dogs.  The good pups out of her will be baying by 3 months of age.  No other gyp on my place is worth breeding to over her.   Shes been bred to 2 top male dogs and a pup from each of those litters have made awesome dogs.

I consider Mikes Tweety gyp in this category. She is a dang good dog as well as seeming to produce well also. Her offspring and grandpups seem to have a higher percentage of above average dogs as well.

90% of mine are tight bred... Sullivan, spivey, whitworth, pate stock out of the Chester area... I been breeding them and using them 15 yrs or so... Fairly large line of dogs and real rough, very high percentage make pretty good hog dogs, med range, 5-600yds, decent nose... Very seldom produce culls... Their size and grit can sometimes b a disadvantage and their extremely hard headed not gonna b one of them superstars at 8mths old but usually turn on by 1 1/2- 2yrs old. All in all it's pretty good line I think.

Ol Tweety's a pretty good dog. She's not a super dog by any means, just a solid, reliable dog. We've caught a lot of hogs with her that past few years I've owned her. Not only has she produced some good dogs, but her offspring are also producing good dogs. I have two more planned breedings with Tweety. One this year with the Obama dog and one next year with my Hunter dog. Sorry, but all the pups I don't keep are placed with my hunting buddies, you won't see any for sale.

This is Dolly.  Owned by a hunting partner of mine, Travis.  She's the mother, sister, aunt or grandmother to everything on his yard and almost everything on mine.  A heck of a nice dog herself and a really nice producer.  She comes from a pretty tight bred line of dogs.  Having a dog like this is like having won the lottery in my opinion.

This is Cash (some know him as Buck)

I haven't personally witnessed his offspring go, but many, many people over the years have.  Lavon Davis who owned him for many years considered him to be the best producer he's ever owned.  I aquired him to use as an outcross last year to Dolly (above) but the breeding didn't take.  Tried again, and I now have pups due out of him in two weeks.

He's also the sire to the current litter of pups Mike has out of Tweety.

Congrats on the upcoming litter. I know you were pretty bummed about the first breeding not taking.   BTW, Buck / Cash looks great.

Bryant I assure you the pups will have the hunt.  I wish that some of yall could hunt with his son that is out of Brandy.  He is the right kind for sure.  I DO NOT want anymore puppies to fool with but the thought has crossed my mind to breed Brandy one more time to Doc, her son out of Buck, to see what they would be like.  I own a daughter out of buck and brandy that I could use later on to breed to if need be.  It may never happen but it has definitely crossed my mind.

Tweety is without a doubt the strongest producing momma dog I have ever seen, she is good and she throws as good or better than herself which is rare.

Bryant he does look really good, glad Chris and Mandi got him when they did, and got him started back on the road to health. He looks like a totally different dog. Amazing how a dog can shine when someone will take a little time and put a few dollars to properly care for one what you might get back out of them. A little Wormer goes a long ways, and a little Ivomec might have added that good dog, several more years of reproducing and hunting.

If everything goes well Thomas will be getting a pup out of Tweety/Winchester crossed same bloodlines her in another month but I hope I did not jinx it by letting the cat out of the bag too soon.

Girlfriend is a top producing gyp! She is as close to a hog dog as you want! She currently has 4 generations on the ground, 3 of which are of age and striking hogs like none other. She has yet to produce a cull in the 8 surviving pups.. Each one will bay am find their own hog. 3 of the strike dogs are top notch while the other 5 are only about a year old but already have been getting it done. The black dog beside her is Blaster and is the best male producer I've seen. His pups hot the ground hunting and hardly ever produce culls.. It's extremely hard to keep these pups alive out of these 2 though. We've had more good ones get killed or die accidentally than anything

boogie! 3 yr old that will find any hog in the woods, with bottom to boot

Briar going on 2 in September! Found about 50-60 Hogs for us this year! Hog finding machine

the 3 gyps in the middle are just under a year old and will all strike hogs! The male dog out of this litter is even better, but no pics

Bryant, the Tiger pup I had out of Buck was on his way to being one helluva dog. Scared to death of a hog at nine months old, but when the switch flipped on after he turned a year old... there was no looking back. He was out hunting, out striking everything on the ground when he got killed at a year and a half old... his roughness was his downfall. These pups are starting the exact same way he did, very slow to turn on, but not as rough. This coming year should show what they're made of.

I liked the Tiger dog, but I think Hunter is the better dog of the two.  Maybe he's just more my style... I bet the Tweety/ Hunter cross will be something else.    The only female from the Tweety/Winchester cross is about to be spayed, so it's up to you to keep the good dogs coming.
