I'm pretty excited about the breeding.  I'm not thrilled at summertime pups, but I'll take what I can get.  I know Cash's pups tend to be slow starters, but the line of dogs I crossed him to start really young so we'll see what happens.  The litter I have now that were born in January...every one would flat work a hog (or anything else that moves for that matter) at 3-4 months old and if turned out in the pasture they'd be out and over the hill in just a minute.

Besides all that...how they start isn't near as important as how they finish out and I never judge a pup by that quality alone.

Mike, I was about to ask the same thing. I have a pup that looks identical to her. Even a few spots on her chest. I got her and her brother from a guy in LA that lived near the Tx line. How big is Tweety???

I'd guess her around 65-70 lbs... she's not a small dog.

She is probably out of my Brandy dog(a Tweety daughter), and sister to Ruby and Hunter.   Came from Clay Pope.

If that's the dog, then yes, she is a Winchester granddaughter.

Here's a little history on that dog if you care to know.

Tweety was bred to Winchester. That litter produced one female and a handful of males. One of the males is Obama, and another belongs to a fella from around Lexington (I think)

The female pup went to Ben Besch in Cistern. He took her to Fort Davis and raised her out there, and bred her to a ranch dog of Bob Eppenauer's.  The resulting litter produced your pup, Hunter, Striker, Ruby, and a few others.   In my opinion, Hunter is the best dog in the litter. Ruby has range, and has found plenty of hogs, but opens on track and sure likes to run the deer....   Your pup was really turned on, and was out hunting damn near a mile away from us when she was hit by a car on Hwy 95 just north of Flatonia. We loaded her in back of a buggy, and were headed to take her back to the barn to put her down... she had enough fight in her, that Clay decided to give her a chance... I have been told she made a full recovery...    Does she show any signs being hit by the car? Maybe slowing down after a long hunt, or favoring one leg?

BTW,  I don't know that any of that litter will put teeth on a hog.  I know their momma will bay a shoat til the cows come home.

Ya she was hit and still will go a mile, lotta range, u can tell sorta but has never slowed her down any, not sore or slow and hunts plenty deep. She found a few but is not real independent lately but she was before so idk?? She's trash broke tho won't bump deer or diller and never made a sound on track but raises hell if u leave her at home or on the wheeler lol... She has alot of hunt and likes to hunt. U know how old she actually is???

I remember that dog.  Accident happened on the TDHA contest hunt year before last if memory serves me right.  I rememeber seeing her in the back seat of Clay's truck.  It's really a miracle she made it from the looks of her that day!

I am pretty sure they were born early December of 2008.  We picked them up on the first weekend in Feb 2009 and they were about 8 weeks old.

I've seen Mikes dogs in action and seen the results of TShellys pack in the Teague Hunt.  The dogs are sure enough the kind.  I have a question though.  Where does the black color come from?  I've never seen a black curr dog, not saying that they dont exist.  Cause y'all have some great dogs.  I've heard good talk of them, I was always told if I ever raised one to keep it, but up until now I've never seen one.  I've seen some yellow dog throw backs that come out black and tan but never any blacks.  They are too good of dogs to be straight cats.  Maybe I've just been wearing those yeller stained sun shades too much.
