Went back to the maize field this evenin' after it finally got below 90 outside. Had a nice south breeze so I came in on the north side and started roading the dogs. after a couple miles and a very long day on 3 hours of sleep from last nights hunt and having to work I just decided to call it a night. On the way back in I'll be danged if I don't see hogs crossing the road on a place I got permission so I dropped dogs and my hound started sounding off immediately. They go out bout 3 yards and I didn't think they ever made it to them and there was a lot of scent so as they came in I just loaded them up. My lil kemmer cur didn't come in so I checked the garmin and he was 650 down the road and across the road. Get down there and I hear some squealing. From the group that crossed the road I knew there wasn't no monsters in there so I just went straight to him and I fergot to roll up the wind and my bulldog jumps out again. Ely the kemmer had this lil guy caught and cookie monster was 250 yds deep in this field I didn't have permission on and got her called back in. Pretty interesting night for calling it then getting on pigs. 4 hogs these last 2 weekends has been a good run from the dry runs I've been having. No bigguns but this lil guy was gonna be the next hogzilla so I just decided to get him outta the wild so I wouldn't have too many bragging rights . Now it's time for some sleep.
