Thats alot of pups, and alot of money for a pup. My .02
Ive got a yr old male that looked good in a pen, 1st hog he ever seen, and had a muzzle on to boot. But that dont make him a good hog dog. Ive been raisin plotts bout 20 yrs. Seen very few if any that didn't look good in a pen.
This feller might have some jam up dogs, but the good ones to me are the one that put a hog at the end of a track consistently.

I dont think I would not consider buying a dog just because they will bay one in a pen. I got one they said was better in a pen. Never had her in a pen under 8000 acres myself but she strikes and bays good in it. Just my .02 I can think of other reasons not to buy one. Instead of them baying a hog. But i know where your coming from some really good dogs may never make to the woods because they are to good in a pen. I bet there are some rope horses at National Finals Rodeo that would have made jam up ranch horses. Yes im just stirring the pot Smiley Smiley Smiley

All I ever have in the old brown chevy truck is a bunch of culls...actually 23 and counting.  I'm about ready to empty the truck and go back to a hobby I am more successful at.

The guy I got my best plott from hunted hog and bear for many years.  He told me that if he was going to hunt only hogs he would use cur dogs.

Ha, If I bumped some of my buds ponys they would sell out instead of PO him and think I got to them for getting him so cheap. Thats my horse trading buds not my hunting partners of course. Grin Grin
