Keep giving him scraps a few days wont do it. Give him a few weeks he will start getting better, if not he may have pestcites that regular wormer will not take care of and need ??.. Cant remember the name. But i had to do this recently cause of bad dog food and the wormer i was using did not kill some of the pestcites my dog had.
Is he is a kennel? Chain? How long chain? How big kennel?

what did you worm him with?
Cereal/Grains will bloat and appear fatter until they run it off in a couple of hours, it does not add to their muscle or weight gain

Any time I get a dog that's real skinny, I "super worm" them with a tube of Safeguard. I give them a third of the tube three days in a row. That's the small tube for one horse.
You might take a fecal sample into your vet to double check... my Tweety dog got real poor and it turned out she was infected from a tick.

You wormed it three times with what wormer? What parasites does it not kill?
There are not too many wormers that kill everything. The broadest spectrum are probably a Valbasin and Ivermectin cocktail, Equimax or Zimmermectin Gold (the last two are Ivermectin and Praziquinal Paste) All three of those kill damn near everything but if you dont know what you are doing with the Ivermectin, you can kill your dog too.
Either way, Id start my search for the answer by finding out what the current wormer does not kill.

A couple of my dogs had tapeworms. Vet said from eating a flea with the eggs. Safeguard (Fenbedazole) or Ivermectin are not effective on tapeworms. I used Praziquantel. A fecal sample to the vet will tell you.

Have you taken him to the vet. Might be a medical problem. Should take him there before you try all these home remedies and make him worse.

I did not mean what I said to preclude a trip to the vet. That's what we determined after a trip to the vet. I second buddylee's comment. It would be worth a trip to the vet to know for sure what you are up against.

4 cups of what?? Because 4 cups of Ole Roy or something like that is no where near enough. I vote tapes. Fecal sample is cheap enough.

I would switch that first. The first ingredient on most of the Alpo dry foods is corn, then corn gluten meal. There are some threads on here about feeding raw. and some guys that know a lot about that that could get you started on it. I would look into that or at least a premium dog food. I dont feed mine raw meat (mostly because I'm not that dedicated) but I have done tons of research on dog foods and canine nutrition. just read lables.
