Me, w-tate, and a friend of mine, Derrick loaded up Friday night to hit one of my places. I brought Gus and Dixie, w-tate brought Jake, Sugar, and Duke. Roaded the dogs by a few tanks and came around to a protein feeder the hogs have been hitting. Duke and Gus were working around 80-100 yards and opened up. Dixie made it to them and we had a solid bay, sent Jake and Sugar from the ranger for the catch, hog broke maybe 20 yards and they had him locked down. I made it there first and I came up on the biggest hog I've ever seen or caught. Tried to grab two legs but I had to use both hands for one leg. W-tate stuck him while he was standing with his K-bar baconmaker. My yellow dog Gus took a good punch, and a couple more dogs got roughed up, but nothing a few weeks off won't cure. Wished we could have weighed him, but it was late and didn't have any scales. I hate guessing hogs weight but I would bet he was close to 300lbs.
