I hope no one takes this the wrong way just me talking here.

Having bred a few dogs for years and years I can almost tell you I  have seen just about every breeding arguments are disagreement a man are woman can see when it comes to breeding dogs.  I use to preach and preach and think my way was the best way as most that breed their on dogs do think their way is the best are better way.  But after years and years of all this kind of stuff and when I stopped breeding certain breeds of dogs and stayed away from all the friendly and also heated arguments and different ways to breed dogs.

As I sit back and watched I began to realize hey man there is great dogs that come from family bred lines of dogs and there are great dogs that comes from scatter bred types of dogs and there are great dogs that comes from the best to best types of breeding programs.

I also begin to realize no matter how much preaching any man are woman does  a person is going to do what they think is best even tho some things made no since to me I realized I might as well let it go and just sit back and watch and I did for some years .   I said hey it makes no difference to me its his are her's time and money let it go and I did.

I realized , there is some people that could give a dang about breeding dogs and just wanted performance dogs and could give a damn less about a line bred family type brood stock dogs.  These guys would only breed the best to best no matter which family of dogs they came from and hey you know what there was some very very great dogs comes from these breedings and a lot more than you might think.  As time rolled on I begin to like breeding best to best more and more but I never could get over the family type breeding of dogs because it was how I started out.

Then there were people like myself that loved line breedings and some inbreeding families of dogs,  you know keep it in the family types of breeders only crossing when it was absolute nessary and yes we produced some good great dogs and also had our share of culls also but we knew when to cross out .
Now some of these types of family breeders had two problems and one problem was some would get kennel blind meaning the tighter the better they thought and ended up  hurting themselves more than helping there families of dogs  by not crossing out and the lines became stagnant of its on blood and would nearly choke itself to death .

The other problem was these types of breeders is they get hung up on pretty papers and seeing how many times they could get one great dog in there are maybe two great dogs bred nearly the same and then it became a puppy peddling business everybody really looking at the pretty papers of the dogs like 7/8's this dog are that dog and the whole lines performance began to suffer.  I will be the first here to tell you I don't care how tight your line is it ain't gonna be worth a number 2 with out the proper out cross were it be a 1/8-1/4 are what ever it takes to bring the Vigor to the dogs .  You can have Mr World Champion in there ten times but with out the proper cross you might as well wad it up and throw it in the trash !

Now the Scatter breeders just breed this dog are that dog,  a pound dog, this dog , that dog and yes let me tell you sure nuff they would get some great performance dogs here and there but that was it a performance dog is all you had because you could not reliy on these kinds of dogs to produce noting because noting is what you got most the time when you bred these types of dogs .  Performance dog and thats it.

Anyway these days I just kinda sit back and try my hardest to watch without butting in which is very hard to do but when it is all said and done a man is gonna do what he wants to do and no amount of preaching is going to change his mind and who knows sometimes these guys come up with them aces that we all seek now don't say it cant happen because I have seen it happen more than a few times !  Really this is what makes it so interesting.

So to each his own I have no problem with how any man wants to breed his dogs he is the one that  has got to live with them and feed them.

You might find this a little interesting right here!
I must say this and it is the truth of the matter the best hog dog I ever seen in my life no one knew how he was bred he was found at a roadside park sitting on the table and let me tell you what he was the best I have ever hunted behind now ain't that a damn shame and I never even bred him before he got killed doing what he loved finding hogs and he was a hog finding machine he once found 23 hogs himself in two days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Hunting Guys.

Well said Jimmy, the longer I breed these bulldogs the more I just keep my mouth shut. I seem to be swimming upstream against most of the ADBA. I have to say that I love hearing all the different ideas that the hog hunters throw out. They are proving [or disproving] their theories every day. And most of em aren't shy about sharing.
