Is just me or does there seem to be an influx of members out to pick each other apart? No wonder, we can't seem to get organized when it comes to important matters that involve our rights with working dogs. IMO, this is just getting flat out pathetic and hilarious.

What happened to the dogmen that didn't have to brag on the WWW about how good their dogs are? I know it's been said before, but alot of us on this board know and have hunted with each other and have gained a mutual respect for each other’s animals regardless of the methods of hunting and type of dogs that are hunted.

It might just be me, but I was brought up around dogs with the attitude of humbleness and let your dog’s performance speak for itself.

It seems to me that there are allot of hunters looking to prove the dogs on the WWW. The hog dog world is smaller than you might think. Trust me, the ones that have the high caliber dogs don’t have to brag on the Net. People that they have hunted with them will do this for them. The best way to make a name for yourself is get out in the woods and catch some pork. This forum has experienced members that will help you out in a heartbeat, if you will just ask and stay level headed. You also have to realize that there are different ways to skin a cat, but ultimately accomplish the same goal.

This forum is a great pIace to fraternize w/other hog doggers. I have met several hunters from this board that have tagged along w/me on hunts and I have tagged along with them.  I can assure though that no one wants to hunt with a braggart and a know it all. IMO that is one of the fastest ways to not get an invite back.

I know I like to stir up a little dust every now and then, but I do try and keep it from getting personal.

Stay humble, post your hunts and enjoy this site and in the end your dogs will speak for themselves…

Great post Richard... I 100% agree.

A lot of us on here are friends and like to poke fun at each other, but we have serious discussions also. Everyone states their opinions and all's good. There's some folks that can't do that, that's when the macho hog hunter, my dog's better than your dog attitudes start showing... something we don't tolerate too much of.

I'm with you guys.  Ive been hitting the backspace too.  It is hard though sometimes when someone you can tell is trying to build something up.  Ive put a allot of time in to my hunting style way before this site and was talked into getting on here by a friend and now i can't get off it but i like the BS between friendly members but not from the odg traders.  I'm actually glad you just sent this before i think ive been straight by all the rules but i was about to start typing my feelings on one thread.  This just saved me!   Grin Grin

I was raisEd to respect others and if you didn't you got popped upside the head. I'm new to this site and I can already see that there is a lot of people that don't or has forgotten the meaning of respect.

Thank God for a backspace button... sometimes I should use it more...  Grin

I get that a lot about this site from my friends (better hunters than me... maybe  Grin) that enjoy gettin' on here to see what antics I been into lately... they just don't bother gettin' on here themselves and postin' anything for fear of bein' picked apart by non-hog-catchin' chit talkers...

... and it's a shame, because I'd enjoy reading their storys alot.

I, myself, have restrained from brainstorming as usual because of the same reason... can't have a good conversation about dogs anymore without some.... thank God for the backspace button..... but I'm sure you know where I was headed...

Maturity come at a price.....and that price is usually age. As is everyone else I'm assuming, I've been on here much more than normal because where I live it's 139 degrees right now and with 155% humidity....naaaaaa...but it's close. Was on a thread reading the other day and one guy came real close to getting the boot simply because he couldn't keep his mouth shut....or I mean his fingers off the keyboard. A real good way to get rid of a bragging know-it-all is to IGNORE them,.....they'll soon go away....which is what you wanted in the first place! Grin

Thanks Mike, I know you mods know what's up, and I appreciate it...

I don't envy your job... it wears me out gettin' through all the bologna of one thread... let alone all of 'em  Grin

I do wish my friends would post up though... they got a lot of knowledge accumulated that shouldn't be lost.

I was raised that if you didn't have anything good to say don't say anything at all.....With that said, i'm not very fast at typing so i don't post alot....I do read alot though and most of the post show me who i would like to hunt with and who i wouldn't.....I love to hunt with dogs, thats how i was raised. When i go to the woods with the dogs i'm not there for a pissin contest i'll leave that to the dogs, i'm there to have a good time whether we catch 10 or have a dry run......When i get on here and read the pissin contests, all i can do is chuckle and pop a top on another one.......

 When did you go soft?

If you come on the www like a dumbazz then you should expect to get called out. If people act like that on the www can you think of how they act at a gas station with dogs in the bed. Think about it.

Everyone has there own idea of a good dog. But, if you came on the www saying I have the best dogs and I can train a dog to do anything I want then expect to be called out. Two people said that and both tucked tailed with some lame excuse why they couldnt do it.
The cool thing now is to have your own line. Look at the last two weeks. Every one wants to add a touch of bird dog to their line................ I wonder why we have so many pos dogs. Some people need to stop breeding and let others who have a clue handle it.
