Have any of you ever seen a dog tie a gyp thru a wire kennel? A female I gave to a friend a few weeks ago appears to have been bred in just such a scenario. She stayed kenneled thru the entirety of her last cycle save 2 trips to the woods when I used her as a lead in catch dog and was under my supervision the whole time. Everything is fine, we've come to an agreement on the situation and there's no hard feelings but Im still scratching my head over this one.

My grandpa swears to have had a boar hog in the day that mastered that skill and bred more than one sow through the fence. Just here say though but I guess it's possible.

My kennels are 2x4 wire or 4x4 wire but the kennels shea and red were in were both 4x4s

She's had false pregnancies before but Kevin says she's swollen in the belly and she didn't do that last time.
I guess we'll find out in a week or two.

About 7 years ago I was over at a deer dog buddy of mine's house. We were looking at his dogs. He kenneled them one in each pen. He arranged them male, female, male, female, and so on. I asked him why, and he said that he did not want to deal with males fighting between the wire. Personally, I understood what he was saying, but fealt that arrangement never let his males get used to being in close proximity to other males. I have my own thoughts on living arrangements around the kennels, but that is besides the point.  Anyway, I noticed one of his females was coming into season.  I mentioned to him that he may want to move her, as she was between 2 males. He explained that he had had dogs for 35 years, and it was not possible to breed between chainlink. I laughed, and told him to make sure and enjoy his litter. He assured me I was wrong. I knew differently, but left it at that. 2 months later he called to apologize. He said he had left her in that pen by herself for the whole time. Sure enough she had a litter.

It won't be the last litter conceived in this manor either. Whenever people talk about placing blocks between pens, it is important to go 3 tiers for this reason alone. 2 won't help a bit. Think about your younger days. Where there is a will, there is a way.   Wink

When I was 18 I would travel 90 miles for a back massage and a home cooked meal and got a few speeding tickets getting there. Smiley Those were the good ole days...I wouldn't do that now cause I am a married man, or is it that that burning desire isn't there like it used to be... Huh? Sad. Grin it is an old saying but I sure would like to be 18 again and know what I know now. Wink

I had a male in a kennel then female and then another male and never had a problem but it was chain link. The main reason I did it that way is because the males would try to kill each other if it were male next to male.

They sound like great dogs to be around.

I've got no time for that type of nonsense.  angel

Cutter bay

it was a fault but I brought it on myself. I liked independent alfa type males and I bred for that trait. they got along great in the woods and yard but I had to watch them in the dog box and when bored in the kennels next to each other they would fight each other thru the wire.

Don't get me wrong, I've had a few idiots in my kennels over the years. After showing me that they had no interest in seeing it my way, they were given a ticket outa here. I will not tolerate it. My hunting buddies know not to even ask to bring one around me or my hounds.

I have friends that had a bitch APBT bred thru a Vari-kennel door. That male dog had to be some kinda vulnerable for awhile.

I had a gyp get knocked up through them 2x4 wire kennels. My wife had her in the kennel n a stray black dog running loose in my old neighbor hood managed to breed her. I did see it happen through cattle pannels aswell
