My opinion is get with your local Yeller guys that actually hunt their dogs not just hang a gyp every time she is in just to make a buck. JMO

This was my Deuce dog that I lost a couple months back.  In my eyes, he had near perfect phenotype as for what I desire in my dogs.  One of the best conformation dogs we've produced.

This was a dog I owned for a while, as far as build and head shape this is what I like

If he was spray painted black he'd be a looker Grin

DoubleR

Is that tank dog an intelligent acting dog. Question being more so than his peers?

Tank is a very intellegent dog.  We have many dogs but only three black mouths and all three of them are our top hunting dogs.

My Blade dog on the right and maverick10's Indio on the left.

There are a couple things I wish I could change about Blades ways, but as far as overall build, structure and coloring, he is it.

Indio is a close second, but he is just a tad keener built. Not knocking him at all, just making an observation.

YELLOWBLACKMASK  Cheesy Yep that was WB just thought I'd see what you thought about him, poor thing didn't even have a black mask so you know he was worthless  Grin  and this was titled " Build your perfect Yeller dog! " not show us the best yeller dog YOU ever owned. WB was a good looking dog even with out the anointed mask

Really if you can look up a picture of Craig Loftins Earl, Sally or Jenny that's how I like mine and what I want to keep and produce. Big leggy red colored BMC " Hood " dogs with a ton of hunt and winding fools.

To me they are ideal and the reason I quit the catahoula dogs and got on the winning side, here is a link to show them.

Waylon

Yea I don't tell everybody cause its like having a third nipple, but few of mine throw them pale faces.  Strikdog kennel has an outcross male that looks just like that WB dog. I will have to give him credit when he breaks him out of moth balls I don't have anything still living that can hang with him. Without a doubt I figure the WB was a goodun but I am still making up my own mind about the line to see if they fit my personal tastes.  But they are Perty I will give em that up front for the most part.

Bobby

I will say that pick with Mavricks dog is a wall hanger. The Perty yellers I mean. LOL

DoubleR

The reason I asked the question is that the pic of tank dog reminded me of an old wives tale I have heard multiple times. The old timers always told me to watch for the dogs with a pot knot on the rear of the skull. The tale goes it is a sign of higher intelligence.  I don't believe in witchcraft but its kinda crazy I have confirmed it to always be accurate. LOL unless I am the one that put the pot knot there manually. HEHE

Great pics to all that have posted. Keep em conning. We gotta beat the colored dog post that's kickin now.

They all look good  Cool  I like a dog that will wind , trail &  has more bite then bark. It works good for me in the terrain I hunt.

Her mamma is a true ice cold killa. Dont even make eye contact ..she will steal your soul.

When are you gonna get lil girl bred back into the family?  She has lived in sin long enough with the brindles.  laugh
