What we really mean is civil war, don't we charles? And I'll freely admit that I'm scared to death of that. Having seen it in Iraq I will unashamedly say I am afraid. I have no answers. I'm no deep thinker. I just know our nation is sick... and our politicians aren't the cause of the sickness... just a symptom. We The People are what's wrong.

I agree 100%...welfare moms get rewarded for having more children, thus a never ending cycle.

To me the root cause of our problems have to do with greed.

The majority of our politicians serve one term and have one heck of a retirement program. If they had to earn the retirement and not just get it automaticly then this would be a better country.

When major corporations started building plants, factories etc. etc. overseas I saw that as greed for bigger profits but this sold out our country.

The other thing I see is the global competition. How can we compete with third world countries that don't pay their people and don't care about pollution. The company I worked for spent millions if not billions to control pollution. Not only that but a lot of the countries we compete against are right next to the oil and gas producers. The answer to that is for the USA to drill more and slowly phase in a renewable energy source that is feasible and creates jobs.

When we are in a country that has a high standard of living ( AC, 2 or 3 vehicles etc etc)and we compete with a country like China then we are going to have to give up some of these luxuries. I see countries like the US and China like two open top barrels and the US barrel is full of water and the Chinese barrel is empty. The equalizing line is opened and the USA barrel flows into the Chinese barrel. The Chinese are happy and we are PO'ed here in the good ole USA. Our barrel is now half empty and the Chinese barrel is half full...The barrels representing economy/standard of living...

I just hope the Chinese don't get too hungry or greedy....

TO ME THAT IS LOOKING AT THE BIG PICTURE...and not focusing on a symptom.

I used to think over population was a root cause but it is a symtom of greed...More people equals more money for the chosen few...

but that can be delt with thru education...

If we start culling humans like we do our hunting dogs then we would be in trouble... :)a good hog dog is hard to come by... lots of culls out there...

M. Peitz, if u didnt vote for him and ur not an air-head n in ur youth generation, then how can you take offence to his statement? If the shoe fits, wear it, if it dont, then leave it alone. I will say that you are correct in that the generation before you has just as much blaim on them aswell for those who voted him in. Why are so many people so thin skined now days? You hav to look at yourself and ask yourself, do i fall into the catagory that is being stated, did i do that or am i part of that group? If your not involved with the group being profiled, then why take offence to what is being said? Im NOT calling any1 out, this is a shotgun blast aimed at whoever's foot fits the shoe, and I put myselg in that catagory too on occasions.

Very good point seeing is though I am not in the groups that were profiled I shouldn't have taken offense.  I do too agree that we are all americans, and the sooner we get a "change" the sooner we have "hope" thank you for pointing out what you did, I obviously wasn't using the best logic when I took offense to that statement.

No it didn't. And today's so called "Progressives" have far more in common with the Euro fascist movements of the 30's than they like to admit. American progressives at the time were in love with Mussolini.

    Yes I am liberal in some of my views. People should have a choice in who they marry. Abortions should only be legal in cases of rape or where it is fatal to the mother. Government hand puts should be a short term program. The laws of this country can not be based on the bible.
 But then again, people who don't pay taxes shouldn't be allowed to vote. I didn't vote for Obama,never will . It just wears me out when people jump to conclusion s.

AMEN, Ill second that.  It makes me sick to my stomach when I drive down the road in my community and see all these people beyond obese, sitting around, aint/wont strike a lick at nothin, setting at home getting fat as hogs eating steak and shrimp, that I/we paid for.  While me and the wife go and have to be real careful what we buy. Plus have to raise a large garden every year, just to get by.
    I got laid off for 8 months, when the economy fell, and wouldn't have even thought about, getting any assistance, but set down one night and thought, thats what ive been paying for the last 20 yrs, was for times like this.
And 1st time we went to the grocery store we could just buy whatever we wanted all name brand, sweets, whatever. I told my wife, it aint no wonder people wont work, the government is paying them not too.
   If your not disabled you should be require to do some kind of work if your drawing a check. Even if its picking up cans on the side of the rd. Weed eating, just somethin besides laying around gettin fat, then tryin to blame it all on McDonalds .
