If you own your own house. This is an option for you to help with the inside temps. My attic didn't have enough ventilation so I installed ridge vents to the house. My attic temp went from 165 degrees to 120 degrees on a 105 degree day. My living area min was 84 degrees. Now its back down to 73 degrees inside on a 110 degree day... I think I spent 300 bucks and a few hours worth of work. It was super easy to do. If you know how to use a circular saw and a hammer...

Heres the link to what a ridgevent is.

We have an attic fan that we keep on all summer, which is supposed to make us use less air conditioning, but to be honest I don't know if it saves us any money. I like the idea of the roof sprinkler system but it is against a city ordinance to hose down your patio, so I imagine they would frown on that around here.

I know a guy with a mechanic shop in a metal building. It was real hot and people tried to sell him bunches of stuff. He tried a few and nothing worked. Then he put a garden sprinkler on the roof and it as great. Leave it to a redneck to solve the problem.
