Headed out on a lil run this evenin’. Started getting’ dogs ready just after 10. After getting everything loaded and explaining what could happen to the new guy we were off. Got to the area of my hunting land and dumped the dogs and vested the bulldogs. Bay dogs ain’t done nothin’ but have a peeing contest so I throw them on the hood and head on down the road. I turn down at a half mile and my buddy saw 2 or 3 deer and I’m thinkin’ crap so I get the shocker ready to hit the one that had it on. They didn’t do nothin’. Threw them back on the hood and go about ¼ mile and had just seen more deer cross and boom all 3 dogs fly off the hood. I’m thinkin’ oh crap again but they don’t ever go towards the deer. They worked the road hard back and forth before finally going 100 yds into one of the milow patches. So I’m thinkin’ heck yeah now. Pretty soon I hear my Max pup go off followed by ely my 6 yr old kemmer. They stop and start a couple times but never got past 250 before all three went to hammering down hard. I know they are in or across the creek so we grab the bulldogs and go. We go down into the dry creek bed  and try to get up the other side and it’s impossible with 2 bulldogs. Finally get a guy and one bulldog up the steep bank. We are 75 yds out and I hear one of my dogs take a good hit. So I had the guy cut the bulldog and hand my other one off to another guy and I scale this bank and take off to the bay. I get there and they end up being in the middle of this stagnant water in the creek but no bulldog so I start back peddling to find my bulldog hung up in some fallin’ trees. I pull him out and the hog is looking away. He slides in beside this nice boar hog and I mean hammers down on the ear. His first one as lead catchdog. I get down and dirty in this mud hole, flip the hog and still no one else has showed up. I finally tell them to tie up the other bulldog and get to me. We get dogs back and I’ve been settin’ on the hog for a lil bit and knew it would be hell to drag him out so I let the new guy stick him. It was a dang fun night and for the group of dogs I have that I thought couldn’t  catch nothin’ but badgers, porcupines, and baby pigs we finally get this 225-250 boar. Had all his teeth and my best set so far. 2 ¼ cutter on one side 2 3/8 on the other. 2 inch wetters. I was so freakin’ proud of my dogs and had a blast being covered head to toe in mud. My ely dog had 3 lil knicks and one pretty good cut to his back leg and had a lil fluid pocket but he should be fine. He was acting normal just stove up when we got home and he ate. Gonna get him doctored up and give him a few weeks off. So now I’m down to no strike dog just 2 pups but they are doing dang good. Larry parish vest took a shot but dang sure did it’s job. Couldn’t be more tickled pink right now. This is the same area we been getting into the porcupines so this set of dogs dang sure impressed me tonight.

That was a nice boar hog and sounds like a very exciting hunt.  Nothing gets the ole heart pumping when deer has crossed in front of the dogs and they start in that direction but then keep trailing a hog.  Good Job
