I checked the mail yesterday after work to find a permission letter for a piece of property I have been waiting on for a month. I really wanted to go hunt but knew I had to get up for work this morning at 4am but figured I could go at least check the place out and make it home at a decent hour. I loaded up my catahoula Joker, ridgeback Whelen, pit Achoo and first time to the woods 8 month old pit Dirty along with my fiance Chelsea and my buddy Corey and headed out about 8:00. When we got there I put joke on the box and drove around the property to find some older rooting and some that looked like it had been done the night before. There were tracks everywhere but Joker never acted very piggy so I let him and whelen out to get a run in before it got too late. They both put their nose to the ground and went as fast as they could to .73 miles and split up. Joker came back within about 30 minutes flat out exhausted so we watered him and waited for whelen. We heard him bark a few times and yelp once but I guess it just smoked him because he never got it stopped again. After he came back I decided to take one last loop to shine the place and spotted a good hog cutting into the woodline. Turned joke and whelen out and had it bayed about 100 yards from the truck, dumped the cds and caught him. Dogs got banged up a little but will be fine with a small vacation. I'm guessing around hes around 300+/- and had 2 1/2 inch teeth.

Great hog!  How in the world did you get him on that box by yourself haha

Trust me, getting him up there was no easy task. It took everything my buddy and I, and a few rachet straps had to get him up there. We were considering throwing the winch cable over a tree limb and winching up. I wanted to keep him alive but it just seemed easier to stick him and hoist him up.
