Well it's gone from Sahara hot to Cambodia hot here lately... water's still down overall but the recent heavy rains have made the eight foot tall dog fennels grow out of control... making for stifling conditions to say the least... kinda like trying to get to a bay in an attic full of blown in insulation...  a really BIG attic with snakes, gators, mosquitos, and 100% humidity... Tongue Grin  We still been hittin' it just about every wknd for a few short hours in the mornin' before the cold chills set in...  Shocked Cheesy

... I gave a few of my older dogs to friends so I could spend maximum time on my up and comers Whaler and Spinner... sure enjoying watching them come on... We've knocked the hogs back perty good since February, the majority of what's left has learned to stay near the creek with the gators... which we been tryin' to avoid as much as possible... Found a 150# boar torn in half laying on the bank a few wks ago...  Undecided  Some good trashbreaking and gettin' burned on occasion  Grin, but we still managing to grind out a few hogs every Saturday morning with the youngin's!!!

Sawfish(pup out of my Shine dog I gave to Lee) has been on fire.... the last 20 hunts he's not struck out yet... he is a hog finding machine!  Independent, not near as rough as his brother Whaler, but he's got as much, if not more stick than his momma... which sometimes can get old hours into it... Grin... but all the same a fine nose on him!

Sawfish and Camo bayed this sow up real quick and ol' RCD Snapps finished the deal  Cheesy (Lane with Camo)

Snappa doin' what she does best... waitin' on somethin' to make a sound so she can go whoop it's a$$  Grin

Made one round early with Whaler/Spin and bayed several nice black heffers up in the palmettos...   ... a little shock therapy got their mind right and they rolled another sow up... They real good at draggin' one down!   Grin  Whaler don't like waitin' on help so far... I got a strong feeling he gonna get a few scratches on him before he learns...  Grin  Spinner has healed up amazingly from her hamstring injury somehow... and doing fantastic

Fun hunt from a few wks ago, Shine and Spin bayed this lil' guy up in a nice spot that Lee's dad could get in and watch for a bit... and then got to see ol' Bucho knock him clean off his feet!  Grin

Pups look good man... I agree that the interesting and exciting part is recognizing that the "light bulb" has clicked on for a young dog and he begins to burn the woods up. Keep us posted.

Nice job Noah.. It's tough grinding some hunts out with pups in this heat, but it'll be worth it come next spring when it's cool and all the hard work really takes effect!! Good looking pups, they are coming along just like you thought and hoped they would!!

Well this is good news my friend,....I'm happy for you, I know how neat it is to watch 'em make hog dogs and see them mature and develop the confidence in their own abilities......good job Noah.

Real nice Noah; I been waiting on this update. Congratz!
Doing all that in the heat; brother, they're gonna be some kind of wonderful when it cools down. Grin
You Florida boys sure got lots of stuff that can eat a guy( gators, sharks, jewfish,....); fascinating to an inlander like myself.

Thanks yall, huntin' these pups has been about as gratifying a thing as I've experienced in a long time... every hunt they show me somethin' else.. definitely lost some catch(other than Whaler  Grin) with the cross... whether that is a good thing or not has yet to be seen... all show the extreme athleticism and drive I was hoping to maintain...

Tony, me and Lee were laughin' about the same thing... if these dogs can catch hogs in this, the spring hunts are gonna be fun  Cheesy

Time will tell if I would make the cross again...

Justham, I still got Shiner... she'll be the last dog I EVER give up I promise you  Wink Grin

I been slackin' on takin' pictures and documenting their progression, but I'll try and put some more stuff up as they come along!

That is good news about Spinner. Man, yall are way more heat tollerant than I am.  Cheesy  Glad the pups are cranking out the hogs for you. Keep'em coming. As soon as we get finished with hay, we will be back at it.

You should try breeding ol-bucho and getting some good hunting whites out of him--- his mother is gone and his ol-man is OOOOLD dog now.

JUST a friendly word.
