Never saw it in a female but I did have a male dog that slowed down his hunting and finally more or less just stopped. He was a cur of no telling what lineage....a trade day dog that my buddy gave to me. He was a jam up dog for me for a couple of years.....would not trash at all...would strike and run a hog as long as it took, rough on a hog too. He just seemed to lose interest in hunting and hogs....traded him off for another dog and I don't think he did anything for them either.....very strange I thought.

This usually means the dog has erlicula, tick fever, rocky mountain spotted fever they are all basically the same lime disease is also similar they all have the same effects the dog will eventually get to where it doesn't want to even come out of the dog house. The test only finds 35 to 40 strains and there is over 300 strains so the medication is cheaper than the test. So if your dog isn't hunting and acts lethargic just get some doxycycline pills and give at lest 2 pills a day some give 4 you can ask a vet when you get the pills you give these for 2 weeks. This will have to be done about once a year as symptoms will reoccur. The vet told me he figured half the hunting dogs in America had it.
