Let out this mornin and dogs struck out right away. They bayed then broke for about a 3 mile run into the briar patch from hell. By time we tracked the dogs and got around to where they were Brownie was dead and the other two dogs were still bayin. He broke bay three more times before he stopped in a creek. All the dogs were bayin him now. He went to break again and blacky grabbed an ear long enough for us to get him by the leg and flip him. Started to tie him up and decided to go ahead and finish the deal. Hog was 180 pds cutters bout 1 1/2 but he was pissed off at the world. Best dog we have ever had. Have had her for 5 years now she was on the first boar we caught 5 years ago. Will be missed greatly. Brownie with one of her catches  Hog from today.  |

man that sucks but i know how it is RIP Brownie but thats the way to go (in a blaze of glory) kinda makes you sad but thats the way of the hogdog

damn and that pig was a lil sucker too but just like with dogs it aint the size of the pig but the size of the fight in em. them pigs have got such a bigger advantage in the briars over the dogs though its hard for them to dodge or maneuver when its that thick. sorry to hear bout your loss but she died doing what she loved!

Sorry about your dog. I know how you feel I lost my best strike dog last sunday. Sad thing is if I would have had her vested up she would probably still be here. Went out this afternoon and now have full cut gear for all my dogs. It was a hard lesson to learn and I should have known better.

RIP Brownie... those are the worst size hogs you can catch. they are quick as lighting and razor sharp teeth. Got a dog killed last year on one smaller than that.
