We had this happen to one of our dogs, we tried feeding it a meat, rice, and yogurt mixtures (good for upset stomach), but this didnt work. He was still haveing black poop and wasnt eating anything but that stuff. So we ended up having to take him to the vet. Turns out he had a stomach infection and needed some antibiotics, we kept him on the mear, rice and yogurt for a week or so, then started mixing in dog food. He overcame it after giving him the antibiotic in about 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

You'll be lucky if it's not Parvo,...if you intend to make anything out of the pup I'd suggest a trip to the vet.

worm with something besides ivermectin. TO hard on a pups stomach. But Parvo is a very likely possibility. The shot wont do anything for the pup if its parvo.

People think that worming a pup with ivermectin is the right way...I have used strongid paste for many years with excellent results...More than likely your pups have hook worms and will die in a few days if you don't worm them asap with the right wormer. Pyrantel Pamoate is the active ingredient or you can buy nemex2 for pups that will worm 100 pounds of dog or you can buy the same for horse worming and the price is the same but you get 1000 pounds worth. Check and see if the pups gums are gray and if so it is the hook worms sucking the blood out of the pups... I give my pups beef liver in small chunks if they are weak. Not much but a little bit twice a day for a few days to get them back on their feet (along with their food). It could be parvo or corona except I believe hooks because of the wormer you are giving your pups leads me to believe that.

Thanks for the info never dealt with parvo, just got this pup yesterday she had plenty of energy and spunk then I noticed the change this morning. She also road 2 1/2 hours in the kennel yesterday. I've never used ivermectin just what the breeder said he used.

Ivermetin was too strong for that young of a pup, but besides that is the pup able to drink on its own? If so treat it's water with some form of electrolyte, and antibotic, powder form from feedstore. If not able to drink consult with Wolf Creek Ranch.net they will have step by step instructions to keep pup hydrated and natural organic meds. to give the pup to help heal digestive tract to enable to eat own it's own and recipes for high protien diet to help heal digestive tract. Believe me this works i've tried it saved four pups, where others had dianosis from vet give shots/meds. and lost 4 pups. You can get the meds. from WCR in two days ordered/pay/delivered, meantime keep hydrated.

Could be whips, could be coccidia or could be parvo. Either way I would suggest a visit to the vet.

Her gums are a faded grey color. She will drink on her on and is still urinating. We hand fed her a small amount of yogurt and wormed her with the nemex. Gave her some antibiotics already gonna start the pedialite and check that website thanks.

There is a good chance it is coccidia, which can be treated with albon.........Whip worms is another good possibility ........both are easily cured with the proper wormer..........Hopefully its not Parvo but if it is you will know sooner than later.....good luck to ya......
