Im trying to get some reviews on actual uses of the new 320. I searched the site here and couldnt find any actual reviews. I think that maybe some of you guys have got them by now and are using them.

is the range any better?
does it loose your dogs as much?
What about the new satelite view? do you like it?
Are the gliches qworked out?
What is the downside to the new 320?

Anything else that you may know.

I am loving mine so far. I have had it since august 1st. No problems so far. The only reason I bought mine is for the satellite images. If you're not gonna use them there is no reason buying it. Also as a tip. Download your maps is the highest quality possible. Even if you have to limit the area down loaded. Without the highest resolution its just a blurry image. The good thing is that with the one year subscription you can download all your hunting spots and then let it expire. And the images will stay.   Also get the topography card. It really helps rather than just the birds eye view. There is plenty of storage in the unit for a lot of maps. I probably have 50,000 acres downloaded and can still keep going.

The one negative thing I can say is when you're  selecting areas to.download on your computer the basecamp map is not very detailed at all. So I ended up downloading a lot of area I didn't need to. But I may just not be doing it right

Any hints on changing the setting that lets the map automatically zoom out to 500 miles? When I change over from dogs to map it zooms out every time and I have to zoom back in. ANNOYING

Thank you sir.

Now my next question is, it is losing communication with one of my collars consistently, what's up?? It's also not finding it again when it does lose it... Am I missing a reset button or something?

Is the collar old or did it come with the unit??
DC30 or 40??
What distance is it loosing the collar??

One of the best things ( that ive found ) you can do besides keeping the collars updated is to put a tuff skin antenna from Conkeys on it!!!  Increases range, alot more consistent communication, and alot tougher antenna...  Wink

It's a brand new collar, it's a DC40. It's losing range at shorter distances. Kept up fine with the test dummy (my aunts chocolate lab) at 250 yards, but lost communication at 25 yards... Go figure Huh?

Oh, and it lost communication about 20 mins ago and hasn't picked it back up since. I've turned the collar and handheld both off, deleted it and added it back.... Nothing.

The 40 that came with my system is the best collar i have.. I have no problem getting 1 1/2 miles depending on where im hunting.. Its the only collar that doesnt have a conkey antenna yet.... Since its brand new, call Garmin.. Im sure you will have to go through their troubleshooting steps, but will most likely end up sending you a new collar...  Wink

Idk. Call garmin customer service. They are usually very good to deal with. My dc 40 did that but it would pick back up when the dog got close. It was the antenna. Garmin had to send me a new one twice. When it broke the third time I made one.

got one a month ago and 6 collars i am having trouble with one collar i like it but the 220 is all i needed the 320 has two many functions for me i dont care about the sat. images just want to see where the dogs are when the haven't  checked back. shut the auto zoom off its a pain. dont like the on off button placement either its better on top seems to me theirs to many gadgets on it to play with i just want to look find the dogs catch the hog. not realy a reveiw but my opinion is 220 is more siuted for hunting not fiddeling with all the time. tech savy people will probably like the 320 better.
