I've been waiting on this for about 20yrs... I remember the first time I split water into hydrogen and oxygen...(I'm such a nerd)...  hope it becomes available worldwide soon... how's the government gonna tax that!!! (as I hold my middle finger up in the air...  Grin )

There's a couple men i work with that have been tinkering with hydrogen generators on their gas engines and said they were getting a lot better gas mileage in their trucks........

It really is the perfect fuel... split water with electricity into hydrogen and oxygen... burn it and you get energy + water vapor... that's it...

Explain how they were using it in their trucks?  Piping it in through the air intake I assume?

Yeah, they had made a coil with some stainless wire for their generator and had it pipe into their intake.....both were on carb. motors......they found the blueprints on the net somewhere.....

So the engine was still runnin' on gas, just "improved" by the hydrogen?

....You smellin' what I'm smellin'.... Smells like money to me... Grin

Between solar and hydrogen technology... somebody's gonna figure out how to market this real quick and make a FORTUNE....

... I would really like to get into this...

The American public is ready to get off the crack pipe that is oil...  no offense oil workers... I don't think they'll be any sort of "instant" transition between the two energy sources...

BUT IT SHOULD ALLOW US TO AT LEAST STOP BUYING OIL FROM OVERSEAS....

good deal... the economy and stock market are not ready for it due to "GREED".

Need to phase out ethanol because it takes as much energy to make the corrosive stuff... that it cancels out the good, besides it is super corrosive...

It doesn't make any sense but we are doing it. Shocked

Hydrogen/oxygen makes sense so I guess it won't happen any time soon...

I believe the oil companies have bought out most of the people who had the patents

NOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
hey becareful with that hydrogen hho stuff i almost blew my fool head off ,, long to short
I have built several HHO genrators  i was wroking wit it on getting the precise setting  Amps  verses water temps
and had ran a batch through the bubbler and into a 2 liter bottle
Well this DUMMY  figured it would blast off like a rocket  so being the "good" redneck engineer I  leaned it up at a good angle then
stuck a bic lighter to it expecting shoosh kinda sound when all I got was A BAM CABLUWIE ............. I had flash burns to my face and arm plastic stuck in my arm and shoulder and was deaf in my right ear for days

WARNING TO ALL HYDROGEN IS SOME MEAN STUFF!!!!!! :'( :'( BECARFUL WORKING WITH IT

now I'm studing Teslas writings  and i figure sometime or another i will have  a self contained energy contrapion  Grin Grin

I was told because of the senses in new trucks it would not save u gas because of something I don't remember what it was but that was the jist of it and yes the guy I was talking to had it dumping into the air intake said he was getting like 30 35 out of a half ton chevy 92 or so model

drano plus aluminum foil equals hydrogen. Led zepplin. Do not enclose n plastic bottle! Or mix while smoking! Not just loud its deafening! Wonder how safe it is to store vs natural gas or propane.

I saw in Farm Show magazine where a couple Canadian farmers had done pretty much the same thing with their tractors.  They were trying to make a kit that was affordable enough to market.

a few years back i was reserching how to make a hydrogen generator to put in a vehicle but hydrogen is very dangerous so i never did it. i dont know why its not catching on. about a year ago there was a few people selling hydrogen generators on craigslist to use in vehicle i think its was a couple hundred for one big enough put in a chevy 2500.

The safety aspect is probably another BIG part holding them back...

It's like having a little bomb in every car on the road Grin Sounds like fun Grin

I believe why it's so dangerous is because when you split the water... you get both the hydrogen AND oxygen... ready to go as is... whereas most other fuel sources won't go off till exposed to air...

I remember filling a sealed canister up with straight hydrogen once, punching a hole in the top and bottom... as the hydrogen escaped out of the top(it's lighter than air) we lit it like a fuse... until the interior of the can reached the proper  mixture of gas to oxygen, it would not blow... when it did however... it made a hell of a boom!  Grin

Not something to play with at all, this was done in a lab... controlled environment

The safety aspect is probably another BIG part holding them back...

I've seen video of controlled catastrophic failure of hydrogen cylinders in a car... yes a good fireball, but if you split a gasoline tank and through a match into it... the hydrogen burn off doesn't seem so bad...

The Jam jar on an internal combustion engine is a scam. You hear rumors of people doing it forever and never anyone actually doing it. It takes massive amounts of energy to make a small amount of Hydrogen for an internal combustion engine car to run.

However it is a viable fuel. Mercedes has the F cell and Honda has the FCX. One day we may be driving them.
