This is Ace, out of Bob Cox blood;

This is Courage from Bob Cox;

Both these dogs have been in my kennels and I have hunted them for their owner.
I'm breeding Courage too my Toddy Lil Momma who is out of 4D Lil Man.

Doug - fine looking dogs, are they rough?

I have wanted to try some of them Cox dogs for a while now but would like to hunt with some first to see them in person.

Some are rougher than others but they all are kind of gritty.
Get more than two together and they will try too catch most hogs.

just for the record I wanted to tell you  Ben Jordan never raised anything out of W. Ben but W Ben was out of Bens dogs on the top side, I recently met Bob Cox and I don't think he has ever met Ben Jordan.Ac tually Ben Jordan doesn't like the W. Ben dogs they are way too rough for him. No offense intended just wanted to get the facts to you.
So just because there is w. Ben blood doesn't mean these guys even knew each other, or not.

I know each one has some good dogs and I'll keep letting the ones that know get the storys straight.

I have been satisfied with the few dogs I have worked for people that came from Bob Cox.

 He actually  breeds some of  highest % WB dogs around  McElroys Tank is the result of a full litter mate inbreeding. Which is the result of a cross between 2 half brotherXsisters directly off  WB  Grin Maybe yall can understand that !  ???LOL

Yeller I was mistaken in my above post so I cleared it out, when you make 300 phone calls in a year to yeller dog people they all start to blur together.

I am gonna get me a pair of them Cox dogs and try'em, I hear there rough dogs and maybe that's what I need to go to, these pot lickers I got only see pork if the kids throw'em scarps out the window

I have had privilege of calling Robert Cox my friend for the past 3 years. I have two dogs that came from Mr. Cox, one is the ACE dog Mr. Mason talked about, and the other is a female I call REBA that is at Mr. Mason right now. The ACE dog is (by my calculations off his pedigree) a littler over 70% WB.

Mr. Cox has had a couple of dogs from Ben Jordan and I know one of the them was a dog called Maggie that he really thought was an outstanding dog. Now I can’t speak about him and Mr. Wright, but to my knowledge he has never had any direct dealings with Mr. Wright.

Mr. Cox started looking at the WB dogs about eight years ago and couldn’t find one that fit what he was looking for in his dogs. A few years later, he ran across TANK, a high % WB and liked what the seen in that dog and bred some dogs to him and liked the results.

I ran across a post Mr. Cox had another forum that I think really explains his thought and feeling towards these yellow dogs better than I can, here it is;

I have settled on Blackmouth Curs. I have seen some awesome crossbred dogs, catahoulas, etc.Have had and tried some different lines of Black Mouth Curs. As time has gone by and my opinion of what a good dog is has changed. I have gone to running the old Stock type BMC to the high percentage Weatherfords Ben dogs. Have a few bloodline pedigree names I look for in any new blood I may bring in.
It's a lot of work but very gratifying when you see your best laid plans and hopes come together. It often does not. I really give credit to the men who created the dogs and those that have kept their stock true so that we can have the opportunity to work some of these dogs or attempt to make them suit our individual needs today.
 I got into attempting to breed dogs I would like because I had gone through so many that weren't worth keeping. Spent good money on dogs that would not even make help dog status just to cull them out.
It came down to having to "luck" into a good dog and hope it never dies or gets killed. If it does I was back where I started.
Part of the down side is at times having to put a dog up for a later breeding than risk getting it killed. The upside is having the dogs to hunt that suit you.

Dusty at 5 1/2 mo, 7 mo now and waiting for his cooridination to catch up with his legs and body before hunting him. Seen a hog twice and went straight to work in a controlled situation. Out of Cox's Sam and his partner Spivey's(who owns Edmond Rathke's yard) Sis

This is the first hog my Tank x Lippy pup from Bob Cox & Mcleroy (70%WB) pup ever saw at 3.75 mo old, this is just a short clip of the 15 min video but notice the constant intensity and that she was started with 2 older dogs 7-8 mo that got board and quit way before I pulled her off while she was still fired up. She struck two hogs in 4 hunts before shattering her growth plate arond 7 mo old. She has been put back since her blood is very limited and not reproduceable, her mom isn't doing well.

I started her sister aftr she ruined her leg and her sister had a ton of work ethic and is excelling in the cow arena as we speak but did not hunt like the other 3 I had started so I moved her down the road. The little 7 mo old I will post pics of later was younger and out hunting her so out of the 4 I have personally started  only one was sent down the road and she was still making a hand and would have probably come on since she was only a yr old however why not be picky if you can be?  Grin Thank you Bob and Rodney for allowing me to be a hog dog snob LOL
