My favorite handheld light has been the rechargeable maglight. Real bright, and just mount the charger on the 4 wheeler. Its always ready to go.

I use some little led light from Wal-Mart. They are about the size of your index finger. They hold 1 AAA battery and last forever. I like them because they cost $5 and are small so you can throw them in your pocket. I can't stand luggin a big light around and head lamps get taken off by the brush.

Just bought a new light from wal-mart, its a Coleman Max LED. Uses 2 AA batteries and puts out 115 lumens. Waterproof and is incased in aluminum. About 6" long, for about $25

I have many types of lights. Streamlite, Sure Fire, and Pelican Lights. I just purchased a 3 cell maglite LED and it is without a doubt the best and brightest bang for the buck. It with also double as a portable q beam.

I never understood why most hog hunters who hunt at night are running around with a little mag lite, and a pair of Cabelas snake boots that last about 6 months if your luckey. Guys, coonhunters have been playing this game a long time and have got it figured out, they make all kinds of coonhunting lights that are very bright, lite weight, and wil last for years and years. Same with boots, you cant beat a muck boot with chaps stitched on,waterproof, brairproof, and snakeproof. Will last along time.

for hog hunting i use streamlights buckmasters led head lamd. has three green leds and one bright white led. You can use the either one or all three of the green ones and they seem to work great at night. the white lights alot better when we are working a hog but i use the three green while walking.
Now at work i have both a rechargeable mag light and a rechargeable stremlight stinger. I trust my life to a flashlight working nights and wouldnt trade them for anything for too reasons. One they are bright and have the momentary buttons if you learn to press it right and two the are indestructable my mag light saved my life by knocking a guy out, and they both came with both a home and car charger so they stay charged no matter where i am.
But flashlights like gun holsters are a trial and error piece of equipment. Some guys on my shift dont like the stinger for one reason or another but ive had both for five years and love them.

I use the streamlight sl-20x. Its rechargeable, with an adaptor for the house and another one for the truck. Works great and is really bright. Has a led mode which will save battery life and then a regular flashlight mode for brightness.
