Polaris ranger vs ranger crew

What's yalls opinion on the two? I think a crew would be great but I think it would hinder movement in the woods. I am looking for someone who has been in both to give me an honest opinion of what they think.

I had both.....but now have the crew and love it. The only problem i really have is turning in the woods in tight spots, hard to get used to but you can manuver good enough. It has so much more room to carry all of your gear. i can fit 6 people and 13 dogs with a bed extension that i built and it still rides smooth, goes through creeks and dips good and hard to get stuck. I would recommend one.

get a regular cab the crew will high center on a bar ditch unless it is lifted and 28"'s also when u have a crew that is just more people which means more dogs in the bed. The last time i took mine out i had 6 people and 9 dogs.... I wound up roading my freaking dogs that night because all their dogs got growly. My ranger sold today BTW..

i have the crew also. not too much to complain about other the issue of high center. a 2-4" lift will help it but not stop it. it is hard to manuver in the woods but it has a much smoother ride. you will also need a longer trailer. my ranger measures 12' long and it is a 500. if i had it to do again, i would still go with the crew. jmo

What about horsepower and torque? Six people and 13 dogs is a lot of weight. What I'm asking is does it get up and go or feel like a golf cart?

Rode in and driven both plenty of times. Ranger Crew hands down. Quiter, smoother, more room, etc..

I took it easy that night but really you couldnt tell it was loaded at all. It still had plenty of power to make it through a rough creek crossing without raw hiding it. Crew are nice but I didnt like mine for the simple fact that in the little trails if you had to turn it around you needed an acre. I sold mine yesterday and going to buy a regular cab today.

You can tell that you have the weight on you, but it still has plenty of power. We changed ranches the night I was full, got on the blacktop and ran almost 40 mph. But I try not to load full much. Too much weight and something is gonna give.

Have had both, have crew right now not as manuverable. If I was getting one for hunting and nothing else get reg cab, If your going use around farm, or general riding crew only way to go.  Mine has power steering and think the power steering is worth extra cost. Most time I go hunting I wont take my ranger unless someone else  brings aleast one 4wheeler be it a buddy, or if just me and kids go I'll make one of kids take 4wheeler because ranger or ranger crew neither will go where a 4x4 4wheeler will go.

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to bump it back up and see if I could get some more input on the subject.  I'm in the market now for either the new 900 or the 800 crew.  Any more input would be appreciated.

I have the reg cab 800 xp and love it! I can fit 3 pretty comfortable and can hold atleast 5 maybe 6 dogs in the new box i built for it. I could not imagine havin the crew cab in places i hunt sometimes its tough to get turned around on mine.

I have a crew, 2 in lift, shocks out all the way and 28s, will go anywhere. It is a little hard to get around in places but like peachcreek said, the more peeps, then more dogs and that can be a headache.
It does have many uses though.
