It's a pendulum that will swing back and forth. It's just the BMC time. Give it a couple of yrs and it will swing to something else.

Popularity does kill a breed. I like a dog that will show me a hog. Not the other way around. I went through the same thing finding labs about 10 years ago. Alot of them were trash and wouldn't retrieve a biscuit. I currently am running yellow dog. Because I love there versatility. It's not the breed its the breeding.

aussie black mouth curs

Just curious why you chose the line of BMC dogs that you did? Had you actually seen some of those dogs work in person or did you just talk to people over the phone?

If you buy the RIGHT yella dog you may, same as if you buy the right cat, or any other breed of dog. The person you deal with when getting a dog  is a lot more important than the breed..

It is like the old question...what came first the chicken or the egg?? Huh? You most definitely want to pick from a good hunting strain of dogs that produce.

But the breeder is just as important if not more so because he wouldn't maintain or improve the strain if he did not have the knack for breeding the right dogs and worse, if he/she do not have the concept as to what a great hunting dog should be. There are no shortcuts and no excuses for the dogs, we have to call it the way it is...that is if we truly want to improve the breed or strain...
