" this is not going to help stop people from shooting from the road or stealing livestock it is going to hurt the true hog hunter and the coon hunters in the end "

Sadly that's probably true, it's like gun laws, criminals don't care if it is against the law in the first place. I can see both sides of the coin but really is a poacher gonna call nope! only the honest folks I guess. There has to be a happy medium some how.

hey boys you can thank your local farm bureau they are backing this bill all the way and if you want to make a differents drop your insurence and go with someone else i did. hunting is my hobby and live for my family i raise dogs and this is going to hurt my pocket book so why not hurt thiers as well as mind. but like someone else said it is not going to hurt the people that hunt illegel it hurts the people that do it legal and that is the bottom line so go and tell your local farm bureau how you feel abou them backing this bill thanks and god bless all us hunters that hunt by the law and rights of others

no cantexduck we are not hunt anyones land without permission but if you have a dog that has a lot of bottom end in him they are not going to quiet a hog till they get it bayed up or something else happens. that is what we are talking about is if a mans dog ends up bayed on another person land that joint the land that you have no permission why could you not just go and get your dog and get off of the land and move on without a big fine that a working man would not be able to pay all at once.  the bill is for the people that hunt from the road and the people that steal livestock, not the hunters that it is going to hurt in the long. the big thank is that you can't fix stupid people but tring to will hurt the hunters instead.

the bill once read that tresspassing was...and explained it then said the exemptions were unless you were on another's property retrieving a dog or livestock. They went in this year and amended it that you had to have permission before going and retrieving what ever live animal you have on someone elses property. Yeah it sucks...yeah I see both sides of the story. I've had to do the extra PR work and get to know everyone that has land in the area and spent many hours on the phone. In the end I actually ended up with more properties to hunt and they guys that said I couldn't hunt their land they agreed that'd it'd be alright to go and get my dogs if they end up on the property and pig if they had one bayed. So it did help in makin' me do the extra steps and actually ended up with more land to hunt so I could hood hunt more. I wish I would have known about it earlier so I could have voiced it to my reps and whoever was backing it but I guess that's what I get for not keepin' up with politics. I think this is what ya'll were talkin' about.

yeah the game warden said the bill past all thay need is the gov to sign it, even the warden said he didn't like the bill said it ain't far that hog and coon hunters can't go in and get there dogs but he said there is nothing we can do to get are dogs he said just hope thay will call out, I told him that my dogs wont call off a bay all he could say was I no its bull sh#t but im sorry.  I also dropped farm bu ins.  I understand that some people don't care or understand what we are saying cantexduck but you have to understand we have all been hunting for yrs one way the law said we could get are dogs on anyone and didn't need to ask just leave your gun at the truck and go NO FINES NO TROUBLE get in get out now there telling us we can't if the landowners say no, have to just hope thay come out. Most people don't care if you just go get your dog, but I have a place were one guy leased the place next to us not from here told me no so this crap is what we are calling b.s.

A lil pr goes along way guys    i disagree with the bill 100% but put urself in landowners shoes    if u work land to make a living then why should u put up with some hunter tearing ur stuff up   and i know a good honest hunter is a benefit to a landowner   but look at all the dishonest ones that cause more problems than the hogs do   a farmer gets an insurance check at 50% crop loss so he at leasts breaks even  but if a hog hunter cuts his fence and runs or even catches his cattle then he loses money by having vet bils and fuel loss and damaged fence getting his cattle back in   plus the time it takes to do those chores when he could be doing something productive for his farm...  i know its an insurance deal also  but they would rather pay the crop loss than the hunters damage  believe it or not its cheaper   i was once a landowner and farmer and had to put up with this crap   it was just easier to stop all hunting and take the crop loss   and hunt for myself   everday or every couple of days we were mending fence and doctoring cattle    go talk to landowners   if they say no then stay away from that area  get a good reputation with the ones that allow u to hunt and retrieve dogs  word of mouth is ur best advertisement   and tuskbuster i had a lil talk with don armes too   hes xhanged alot since he took office   he didnt act like he really cared for what i had to say  so i agree with u   but with land i lose to idiotic hunters i lose  their loss   but i am getting more from people that appreciate a hardworking good honest hunter   and another thing folks  its our responsibilty as as hunters to fight for our rights together  to stand up as a group instead of individuals   large numbers get more notice than a bunch of single people   join a working dog group  lswda  and tdha  im an active member in both    but we have to work together or we will take more losses to laws   jmo

The law goes into effect November 1 , 2011. It is listed in the hunting regulations. It is best to start knocking on doors now & getting written permission now.

Hate to hear your fine state has finally lost the right to retreive, another state slips into the future, did anything change if you are caught with a weapon going to retreive dogs, gees i sure loved going to Oklahoma roading running dogs for miles and miles on open land, now you know what Texas has had down here and they are going to make worse laws not better ones for sure, it scary tohave wide ranging dogs that catch, better to have bay dogs that you can honk or call out i guess???
