anyone heard from Ensor??? don't know if he's been evacuated but i know he lives around Bastrop.....stuff is shut down all around there and a lot of places are evacuated.  We've got a couple fires around Pfluegerville and just south of us at Steiner ranch... 25 homes lost and something like 2,000 in danger.  may sound crappy but for my sake i hope the winds stay out of the north/north east

also...... heard there's fires outside columbus??  hope they haven't gotten close to Uglydogs or Oakridge way.

Been talking with ensor this evening. Things don't sound good for his in laws property. As of about five minutes ago the fire was at the north edge of his property too.   I am sitting here in cistern at the besch ranch looking at fires to the north and west of us. Hard to judge the distance, but.with the high north winds I imagine the fire can cover some ground in short order.
Due to the huge cracks in the ground we decided to wait until daylight to pen the cows. Just hope the fire holds off long enough.

It hit several places I know it hit out on 105 and then my land out on 806! This is the 3rd time I've lost a horse to a fire! When I lived up in colorado city we had a big fire that got our house and we couldn't get into the horses and they spooked and the next day we got in to see all three horses dead! But I'm not for sure on all the places in columbas but I know it was bad

anybody hear from Ensor today?  Was gonna try to drop supplies at the Bastrop Emergency Cntr but completely shut off from my side.  If you donate money to the redcross make sure you specify it's for the Central Texas Fires or it goes to their general fund. Just a heads up.

I was fighting fires yesterday.  It almost felt impossible to keep up with it.  Only lost one home but we were able to save 26 homes, and around 2000 rolls of hay.  A lot of places in the area were small 10-20 acres and they all lost everybit of grass or leaves for there livestock.

Fire just east of Columbus and still going.  We had a fire just south of Oakridge yesterday and we also sent a truck too help out at Columbus, we're on stand by and looks like 3 or 4 more days to go.
Did get in a short hunt this morning before they called us out again.  VFD need your support and understanding, we can only do so much.

.We have an URGENT NEED for horse transport for evacuation in Bastrop County, TX. Barns that were used to house evacuees are now in the fire's path. Rt 304 still open both ways. Anyone in the area who can help, please call Beth at 512-467-4893 or Rachel at 512-581-2940 . There at least 43 horses in immediate need at their rescue, surely there will be more.

Our prayers are with ya`ll down south, the fires up here yesterday scared the crap out us. Thank godness no homes or lifes were lost.
Some houses had the fire burn right up to them, lot fence building and cattle moving now.

We have four going right now. One is pretty bad it has burned up over 3200 acres the last count I heard. 7 structures had burned that was at 6 this afternoon. The wind has died down but its spread so far they are having trouble getting it under control. They have had quite a few new evacuees this afternoon.
