Went to Mr. Mason's today for a morning hunt.  We just got a 1/2" of rain and a little cold spell so i was real optimistic.  I brought two of my dogs, MiMi and Angel.  Mr. Mason brought Blue, Victor, and Ricky Bobby.  Mrs. Krystal brought Chlorox, Chief, and Lotto (if i remember right).  we left Mr. Mason's about 15 til 8am and headed down the road about a 1mile maybe and turned the dogs loose.  We weren't there maybe 20-30minutes when Blue struck a boar a little ways from a feeder.  We had a real solid bay. We got about 20ft from the hog when Mr. Mason and Mrs. Krystal let the catch dogs loose.  Well, next thing ya know i hear "Watch Out!".  All i see is a big PO'd ball of black headed at me.  I ain't the smallest guy in the world and no one has ever accused me of havin cat like reflexes but i jumped back. (just not quick enough Embarrassed).  that pig must not of liked my pants cause he decided to redesign the leg a little.  didn't get me too bad just a little cut, but he sure did some work on my pant leg.  Well, the dogs were on him and he didn't make it another 40-50yards.  we heard a pig sqealin, CAUGHT HOG!  Krystal and i started gettin the dogs off the hog and Mr. Mason went to tie'n him up.  We couldn't have planned it any better.  We were only about 10-15ft off the road and about a 100yards or so from the trucks. Grin  Lotto got a little cut up but Mrs. Krystal got him put back together while Mr. Mason went and got the mini truck and hog getter.  I was proud of my two pups, it was only MiMi's 2nd hog with me and Angel's first time in the woods, but i was pleased with both of them.

the boar went about 180-200lbs but didn't have much in the way of teeth (lucky for me)

I'll tell ya one thing, it sure is nice to hunt with good dogs, Mr. Mason and Mrs. Rohan definitely have good dogs.

just want to say thanks to Mr. Mason and Mrs. Krystal for lettin me tag along and helpin a new guy learn from a couple of real nice people. thanks again and i can't wait til next time.

here's a few photos from today, no action shots though as i had a little change in plans

here's a pic of the boar after we got him tied to the tree
