Finally got to hunt our strike dog Butch after some healing sore paws and a new hunting spot. Me and my brother Derald went out Friday morning and caught a good size sow. Went again Monday morning with brother and hookie playing 9 yr old newphew Lane. Butch bayed up blonde sow and newphew got in on his first pig with dogs. We where really happy newphew was there. Started to rain so we just rode around hunting lease scouting for deer signs for next year for places to put stands and food plots for spring. Jamie brought my 9 yr old daughter Bailey out to lease around 3:30 after school she was not happy about newphew missing school and her going to school and not getting to go that morning. Rode around untill about 5:00 and looked like we were not going to get on a hog for Bailey, was about 400 yrds from camp and seen where hog tracks crossed the rode. Let Butch and Sally out on the tracks and after Butch got out about 350 yrds we heard Butch baying. Got within 60 yrds of the bay and turned wedge loose. Had to literrally crawl in the last 25 yrds to get to the sow. It was also Baileys first hog with dogs. She was so excited. Wish we would have got a pic with Bailey and her first hog but by the time we got the sow out she was at home in bed.
