Well it’s been a good month from the last time we went out hunting. Decided to get the dogs and kids up early and head out to the woods. The kids were up at 5:15 on their day off from school and ready to hit the woods. I think that’s saying a lot for kids, I have a 16, 10 and 11 year old and they were up and ready before me. Well the kids and me went to my buddy house Gene and were in the woods at around 7. The air was cool the dogs were running and the ground was dry dry. Didn’t really see any signs but went to the two tanks to see if they were laid up but nothing. Loaded up the dogs and went to the other side of the creek and turned them out and nothing. Went down to the back side of the place and a couple of dogs let out and were out around 200 to 350 yards and working but didn’t get anything hunted up for us. We decided to head back to the crossing to give them a drink but one dog stayed back so I went back to go look for him and two of the other dogs followed. Headed down the trail and looked over to my side and there she was trotting along with me. Stopped the four-wheeler and jumped off hoping the dogs would smell her and they did. The race was on she took them for a run of about 700 yards then turned and came back to where I saw her and they had her bayed up. Was a fun hunt and was glad to get one caught after the month off. The kids had fun and the weather was great.

Nice hog. That sow had some cutters on her. The best part of hunting is getting to spend time outside with the family. Great hunt.  Smiley
