Got a new colt I am riding for some folks.  Ive had him three days.  Rode him around the house the first day, was at Tue fire station the next.  The third morning was gonna load him and go check cows.  He didn't wanna load so I took my time with him.  Finally got all four feet in the trailer and he started running back, the rope sliding threw my hands.  So I let go and was just gonna catch him and start over, but he never quit running backwards.  He ran about 35 yards behind and to the left of my trailer and fell on my shredder.  He stayed there and didn't move.  I got to him and grabbed the rope and he stood up.  Whew I thaught no obvious brokin bones.  But I saw some blood starting to drip down his leg on the far side.  Man was there a big nasty cut.  Took him back to the trailer got him loaded and off to the vet.  The vets gonna keep him a while so the stiching won't rip.  Hope it heals good with no limp.
