I would meet the bay dog handler about sunrise at the farm gate 3 miles north of Calvert and lead him to the places on the farm where I believe he should put the dogs on the ground.

When the dogs find pigs within range of my shotgun for a clear shot, I will take it, and will even agree to the handler calling the shots to take.

We will hunt all morning, I will treat the handler to lunch, and if I am ready for more, we will go back out to the farm to put the dogs down for more hunting that afternoon until around dinner, or until the dogs, handler, and hunter have all had enough for 1 day.

When we've all had enough and call it a day, I will pay the handler $100 cash for each bay dog he put on the ground at the farm for me, up to $500 (5 dogs). The handler would then load up the dogs, and take them back home with him. I am not looking to buy any dogs.

Right now, I'm thinking Saturday, February 28th or Saturday, March 7th for the hunt described above.

Contact me if interested

Why do you think I didn't take the mans money?  I just post it to see if some one else want to do something like that.  Might take him into a knife hunt, just too far for me.

I have turned down too many hunt where they wanted to shoot with bow.

Just call if interested and will give you the mans #

How many acres?  Sounds dangerous for dog and man alike.

I put this up to try to help a person out.
if you were interested in talking to the guy I would give you his #.
You might could get him to do a dog and knife hunt but every one turned him down because he wanted to shoot.
I'm tied up the week end of the expo but if he would move to 3-7-09 I might take his $500.00 if he would go a knife hunt.

The post hasn't been well I would talk to him, I don't know any details but in talking directly to the person then you could decide what and how would be best for both.

Sorry I wasted your time.

Everytime someone wants to do that with my dogs I just tell them that I need to attach price tags to my dogs collars first so if they shoot one they will know what they will have to pay! Smiley  On a serious note though, there has been a handful of times when I really needed a gun or wished I would have had one, but its just too dangerous in most situations and really to dangerous in the terrain that I hunt for sure.  I have started doing hunts like that though.  I will bring my dogs to someones lease/farm that has a hog problem and they invite clients and or friends and I let them stick the hogs.  I charge between 150 and 300 a day and they are in charge of baiting and food for their guests.  Doing it that way also relieves me of liability and insurance and they  are responsible for their guests and property.  All I have to do is show up!

That's pretty much how we do ours, and the guides carry a pistol with them. Used to I had a .22 mag for putting animals out of they're misery and another guy who's a state trooper carried a service automatic for when it got harry Shocked. We also keep a .30-30 in the truck for when it REALLY hit the fan Grin Grin Grin
