Last night I had the itch to go hunting so I called Chris and asked if he wanted to go.  He said he would but was only bringing one dog(Jack).  I brought one bay dog(Speedy) and my catch dog(Cotton) and two borrowed soup hounds(one ugly SOB-Deuce- and one dumb SOB-Buzz).  We rode the dogs through a patch of woods and headed towards a rice field.  After ridding the prairie of one tough Black and white cat, the dogs left out on a track and were across the rice field and half way through the second when Deuce, Speedy and Jack let us know  there was something funny bout to happen.  Chris and I had to go about fifteen minutes out of the way to get around since there was not a gap between us and the dogs.  When we got into the field the dogs were in, they had moved across were baying steady in a ditch about 600 yards from us.  I had loaded Buzzard for the drive around and decided to keep him to send him with Cotton for a little back up.  We made our way within 150 yards cut the bikes off and listened to the three talk to the boar before sending Cotton followed closely by Buzz.  As soon as they cleared the headlights, we hauled it up to the catch.  Cotton was caught on a good one.  We got the hog legged, hobbled and drug out of the mud hole he was in.  Pretty good hog he had some nasty 2 inch or so teeth.  Gave old Cotton a few blemishes but the old playboy will be fine.

We went this morning with Hilscher to a place close to the house on a "quick hunt".  Took One-Eyed Rolly, Sassy, Moto Moto, and Mike had Chief, Black, and Gus.  We made our way around the first set of woods and the dogs were gone.  We had a good bay followed by silence.  Hudy and me walked the direction we last heard a bark and found the dogs caught on a decent sow in a tank.  We sent Titus Pullo in fishing for the hog and got it to the bank and dispatched it.  We gathered up dogs and continued around Chief, Moto and Rolly opened a good ways up a clearing.  We listened for a minute but the bay held we started to them and got withing 100 yards and walked in.  They had a nice little boar bayed in a brush pile.  Catch dogs did their job and hog two was down.  Dogs continued to act like there was another hog around and finally jumped it and he put the after burners on.  The dogs stayed with it a good while but he eventually lost them but Mo and Rolly did not want to quit the track so I had to walk in and call them off.  I was proud of Mo today he needs some more hogs under his belt but he is going to make a hand Wink.
