Friday afternoon the wife and I headed to the panhandle to hunt with Mike. I loaded Mauly, Bug, and Tip and proceeded southwest anticipating what this country and it's swine have in store for my Bug.

The weather was cool but more wind would have been nice. We got started hunting around 11 or so; hood hunting our way around and stopping to cast out around dirt tanks. Mike casted his dogs out and Pike opened and Clyde,Mauly, and Bug were quick to join in. My wife somehow got stuck in the truck so we were late to the bay. Maybe Mike will fill in the gap being as the hog was dead before I got there. Good experience for Bug and that's what he needs.

Watered dogs and back on the hood......hour or so later Mauly and Bug left the hood like a photo finish. All 4 curs bayed solid close to the trail; cut Tip and it broke. Shut him down again 500 yards or so later and we made a sprint to the hog. Mike legged him and I shanked him. Called it a night; had 5 of 6 dogs with cuts and everyone was give out.

All the teeth were about 3 inches; also encountered 3 kinds of cacti that are not forgiving to man nor beast.

Bug( white dog) and Mauly(brindle)

Very pretty, extremely rough and toothy! Grin

Tip; Guy at a gas station asked me if he was a catahoula on the way down.LOL. His buddy told me I wasn't gonna catch a pig because I needed a pit bull dog.LOL. Oh well! He catches.
Also saw a couple deer.

Thanks for everything GET.LOW.CURS! Had a great time! Grin

well shawns wife got stuck in the truck and he was a little late to the fight because the guy who was driving must have got a little too excited and took off with the bulldog without bothering to unlock the doors...  Tongue anyway we took off about 600 yrds and never heard any squeeling so i figured it must've been a pretty good boar... got to about 100 yrds cut the bulldog and had a caught boar... i had two newbies there also and one of them killed the pig so by the time it was said and done and shankem showed up and i found out i locked his wife in the car i did feel like a jack ass  Grin...  the boar ended up cuttin my bulldog pretty good under the chin so we rely'd on ol' tip the rest of the night.. fun hunt with good friends
