Well a month ago I got a phone call from one of my regular customers.
"Mick it's Carla, Whoppas (Damien) b'day coming up, thought I might fly us up for a hunt & bring one of the dogs if OK?"
No probs I replied & the flight itinerary arrived on my pc with hours
I picked 'em up Friday night & we hit the road 4am Saturday. Within the first 1 hour we'd managed to bag half a dozen & they were rapt. With them only being average I was happy for 'em but not overly excited...So, i started copping some crap from the visitors suggesting i'm mad & a pig's a pig etc etc.....
So, the rest of the morning & that arvo hunt I let em catch some more 30-60kg boars
The next morning we rose at 5 and I decided "good boars" was the order for the morning before we head home. SO, I told them we have a fair ride & not much will happen for a while unless the dogs pick up scent of a traveling boar...
We pulled to check a water hole on the way & give the dogs possibly there last drink before "hopefully" hitting a few lone boars......I called the dogs back up on the bike but OPAL would not return...I said to the visitors "She only refuses to come if it's a CERTAIN pig about to found! I could see em thining "yeah right mate" :jack: I called her again but before i could call again the "OPAL Yap" cried out! She, true to form outdid all dogs on the ground and found a boar hiding under some roots in a dry creek bed about 200mtrs from us....So we finished his day & went back to the game plan & headed into the dry country!
We ended up with another 4 good boars then headed home.........
