Have a dog that wont stop licking his balls and wanted to get your thoughts on what it is and what I can do? I just put him in a new kennel with treated wood floors. Could it be that? Thanks

Sounds like he's just a show-off to me...

All kidding aside, don't really know what to tell you.  This might be the silliest thing I've ever typed on here, but seriously you might try putting some pepper sauce on them or something Huh?

I bet they are real dry and are itching or maybe flies are irritating them I'd put Vasiline on em he ain't gonna wanna lick them with it on em and if it's flies the Vasiline should keep them off.

The last thing I'd do is put pepper sauce on em that would irritate them more and he'd more than likely eat them off.

x2....poor guy, could be the treated wood. Some dogs have more sensitive skin than others.

Has he been hitting the emerald massage parlor again? Cheesy

Put some vaseline, or some nustock or maybe even some Boudreauxs butt paste on em.

I have had this happen before, and in fact the dog was just showing off.  I was extremely jealous but I did move a female dog in heat next to his kennel just to make me feel better.  That will show him.  J/K haha

I was thinking splinters but Dinah might just be right...could be the treated plywood causing a reaction.

one of my dogs used to do that when i brough them inside. some dogs are just allergic to certain things. If you read the label on the treated wood, it makes it seem like you should wear rubber gloves when handling the stuff, so I would bet money its just causing an irritation to him. Luckily for you its only one dog and not all of them.    by the way, one vet tried to tell me my dog was stressed.......he would lick his balls raw and also his front paws...............

Drop your drawers and sit down on the wood. Then see what happens to yours Grin

Seriosly I would look into some Thompson's Water Seal and put an anti itch cream on him.

...or maybe a fungal infection causing the itch.
