I was given a 2yr old bmc male he has found his own hogs but it seems he has lost intrest. he will bay and go to a bay but he just won't hunt anymore. any ideas on how to change this?Huh?

how long have you had him? it might take a little while for him to warm up to you.

we had the same thing with a dog we got awile back, took him a few weeks to get used to us, the other dogs, and I guess our style of hunting (we walk, rarely use 4 wheelers) Now he's usually gone for hrs at a time and finding pigs left and right.

I'd just keep hunting him...

The fact that you got the dog "free" might be a clue, he may have never hunted out the way he should. You get what you pay for in most cases. Let him adjust, see what happens. My experience says, if he doesnt come out of it soon at 2 yrs old, dont waist your time or use him as a help dog.

i have hunted with this dog for about 7months. it was my buddy's dog and i have seen him hunt and know he can but i just don't know if he has lost intrest or what.

maybe take him out by himself a few times and see if he ranges out anymore, if not, like maverick said, use him as a help dog, or cull him
