I got hold of some soar mash that was left over after it had been run through a still....I've never seen anything like it for bait. The hogs went nuts over it, came to it 3 times the first day....all in the daylight. They licked the ground clean of it.....it smelled to high heaven but they literally went crazy over the stuff.

 Gonna have to remember that.

dang i was a diesle mechanic for years does this meen i'm gonna die ? we used diesle soaked corn till diesle prices got to high then quit . it has no side effects as to the meat . hell i used to put it on my dogs . first thing a hog does with diesle soaked corn in trap or on the ground is drop and roll in it to get the diesle on its body same reason they rub on creosote poles helps as insect repelant . now i cook my own corn mash just like for makin wisky it works great  and sends a smell a long ways off . you can cure your own by adding yeast and sugar to your soaked corn and let it set till it quits bubbleing you have to add a bit of water when the corn soaks it up. AND THEN HAVE YO SELF A NIP TOO !!!

i had a buddy who was manager at a walmart near the old house and he would call me and give me 55 gal drums of old and rotten fruit, we didnt have hogs when i started but we had plenty when i moved

I made some sour mash after I used up all that from the moonshine guy. I used about 25 or 30 lbs. of cracked corn, 3 packs of yeast, one pound of sugar per gallon of water,.....of which I used about 5 or 6 gallons. It will 'work' or ferment for several days, bubbling like it's boiling....finally yielding alcohol,....which will evaporate if left open....then it will start to decompose and that's when it gets good I reckon.

 Wow! I didn't expect diesel fuel to be attracting hogs! Now the jello thing I did expect any other. Easy ways and I think I'm going to try that mash. Did you do it in 5 gallon buckets or a drum? Then I take it you poured it on the grown? Or leave it in the container and just poked holes in it.  What I have done is just poured pig out on the ground and in 4 days I'm gonna go back and hope I see something on the camera if i dont im gonna be so. upset and take it out on the next proker i see! Lol

I made my mash in a small drum with a lid for it....you could use a 5 gallon bucket I'm sure. I poured it out on the ground and kinda scattered it out so they would have to work for it.

I heard the smell of diesel pulls them in to rub on and get rid of the bugs. Then pigs are the only thing that will eat the diesel corn. But I know old donuts call them pigs in plus you can get it free. Just check the local grocery store and get the throw away bread it will have donuts in there. I just asked the manager and he gave me a couple trash bags full. I just dumped the whole bag out and it worked just great. Never used diesel but I won't say never.

Get you a cheap bottle of whiskey drink till you can't stand it no more and pore the rest in a bucket of corn.  Add berry jello and or koolaid. Fill to the top of corn and just a hair over nd let sit for a couple days longer if cold.  This is the best I have ever tried.  Diesel works well also take some used oil and pore on burlap bags and tie to a tree or pole.  I would love to try the sour mash bet that works well but knowing me I would try to drink it lmao.

the term ld50 means that at a given rate 50 percent of the population with be killed. Becareful because these values are not that strong

fill about 1/2. To 3/4 with whole corn. Dont fill it plumb full cause the corn swells.
fill with water til it just covers corn by couple inches. Add 5-10 lb of sugar and 3-4 packs of yeast.
    Stir it best you can and put lid back on and leave it loose enough to burp, or let excess gasses out. Let set for couple weeks to whenever, it will last a very long time.
    I just hold my breath and dip it out with a bucket. Be sure not to get it on you or your wife will make you sleep outside.
    Its like hog crap, it wont wash off.

 I guess it depends on where you live cause right now you can bait hogs with water around here.    Years ago, my father n law used to pour burnt motor oil in old dried up wallows and the hogs loved to roll in it to get rid of lice. Don't know if they would come to the smell but they love it when they find it.

I use sweet feed for my traps and it works good but don't use it around cows no matter how small of gate they will get in there

I read where a guy uses Kreso-D that you buy at the feed stores. It comes in 16 oz and 32 oz cans. It is an animal dip for horses,dogs,and cattle. It is clear like solvent but has a super strong kreso smell. You can mix it with water and put it in a pump up hand held sprayer and spray the base of trees and hogs will come rub up against the trees. Also he said you can put a piece of carpet on the back wall of a hog trap and spray the carpet with the kreso-d and fill the trap up with hogs. I havn't tried it yet but I will.
