To make sour mash, I use a 55 gallon drum with a screw on lid, if you can find one. fill about 1/2. To 3/4 with whole corn. Dont fill it plumb full cause the corn swells. fill with water til it just covers corn by couple inches. Add 5-10 lb of sugar and 3-4 packs of yeast. Stir it best you can and put lid back on and leave it loose enough to burp, or let excess gasses out. Let set for couple weeks to whenever, it will last a very long time. I just hold my breath and dip it out with a bucket. Be sure not to get it on you or your wife will make you sleep outside. Its like hog crap, it wont wash off. you sound like youve met popcorn sutton He lived about 40 mins from my house. From where I grew up, was about 15 min.

I bet you could talk to a guy like him for years and years and still not hear all the wild and over the top stories be has to tell. Lol Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk

As much as I would have liked to known him, I honestly have to admit that I never met him personally but pretty sure ive consumed some of his products. Know people that did know him tho. I have to say from what ive seen and heard of him, if you want a definition of a hillbilly, popcorn was it.

Yep, thats what the papers said. I forget how many hundreds of gallons they found. And I bet that wasn't half of what he had.

I don't know if I missed it on here or not, but we have used fish trimmings for years. Where I grew up I believe you could pull one from two parishes over.

I have two feeders on my deer hunting grounds. I can recognize most deer from trail cam pics on my property hitting both feeders. I have never put out any attractants other than corn, or fresh fruit from my apple or pear trees, but with little fruit this year I tried a store bought attractant. Two weeks ago, Just for the sake of science I just put it out at one feeder to see if it made a difference. I used the Sugar Beet Crush Juice from wildgame innovations. While I saw no difference in deer hitting the feeders. Where I put the juice, I have hog pics every single night. I know there are a few hogs where I deer hunt, but I have not had a single pic so far this year at either feeder. One night after putting that stuff out, I have them hitting that feeder. So while I can't say it is worth a darn attracting deer, that product does seem effective at drawing the hogs in. Needless to say with deer season starting saturday, I put out some more corn and another bottle of that stuff on monday. While I have got hogs with dogs, I have never got one with a bow, and that is on my to do list, so hopefully I can get it done here pretty quick.
