We have several people that make vests for us.  They are all American made by folks that have been sewing commercially for many years.  Most of the vests are our own design and we are constantly working with fabric companies to find the best combination of fabrics, etc. to make the vests the most cut resistant that we can.  We listen to comments made by customers as well and take all of them to heart to continually try to make them the best vests on the market.  We work closely with the fabricators on all details of the process.  Countless hours are spent on this.  As far as repairs, we gladly will make them - most people opt to take them to a local saddle shop or upholstery place just because of the shipping and waiting time.  We do not have an in-store repair shop and the vests must be shipped to our fabricators.  This process often can take a month to complete.  We sell hundreds of  vests with many repeat customers.   We also realize that we can't please everyone, but we do try.  We appreciate your comments.

Boarmom was kind enough to be honest and explain some of the company's procedures when I PM'd her.  She went above and beyond and even posted this response publically.

There are a lot of hunters on here that use products from this company.  Many would be happy to purchase from them again.  This speaks volumes of their customer service.  I thought it may be good to post your satisfaction publically for a company that makes their living off of "us" hunters.  If you have constructive critisism or possible ideas to improve their product line, I'm sure they would be happy to read them as well.  Please don't bash on this thread, but rather keep it professional as Boarmom has been nothing but professional dealing with us on here.  Thank you in advance.

Boarmom,

From a consumer's standpoint, I can understand some of the frustration involved in some of the related threads about certain failures.  That being said, I myself opperate an inventory department for an international company.  So I can completely understand setting up procedures.  Just like in everyday life, rules or policies are set in place, but there are times that an "exectutive" decision should have the ability to override any policy if the given situation is out of the norm.  From my perspective if there are failures at a seam, it should be repaired or replaced free of charge within the first 30 days of use.  After that, "things happen".  As for cuts in material, well it is hard to swallow that a $150 + investment is damaged, but it comes with the territory.  Along those lines if the whole vest was completley holed up like swiss chess after 1 day's use, I would like to think that the manufacturer would replace the vest assuming there was an issue with the material called out on that particular lot of product.  A warranty replacement is at times required to satisfy a customer who has gone through one of those odd situations that pop up.  In the end, when in business, the idea is to make money.  Having a good quality product that is made well is essential with good business.

In the future, when I have a need for a cut vest, I will consider purchasing from your company.  Overall, I fell you have a good product when compared to other competitors.  Thank you again for all you do.

Why are these considered "failures". The vests did their job and saved the dog's life... I'd call that a "success".

A hog can swing it's head, break and crush bones, rupture internal organs and kill a dog with that force. You don't think one can hook a tusk in a vest and rip it apart?

If you drove your brand new Ford off the lot, took it to the woods and rolled it down a hill... is Ford gonna replace or repair the body damage for you??? Hell no!!!

Some of y'all aren't comparing apples to apples. It goes back to the indestructable vest mentality that a lot of folks have... there's no such thing.

Three years ago we bought our cut vest and cut collars from Wild Boar USA and they are still holding up after three years of abuse.... lots of abuse. When its time to replace them we will be ordering through Wild Boar USA again. We have never lost a cd to a hog.  Smiley

 VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!

I love my Guardians; switching to the Titan because of pass thru. My Tip is alive because of the Guardian kevlar vest; on his 3rd and still cheaper than the vet, time off to heal, or worse( the hustle bustle catchdog shuffle). Thanks WBUSA! From: shankem's mongrels!
Always enjoy talking with you boarmom; got my Titan and collars last week and planning on ordering a large Titan soon.  Grin

I am not sure if they are any better than anyone else or not. I needed collars and vest for the next day. The store was shut down because of a death in the family. They put the procedures away and made an executive decision. I was given directions to their home and someone who did not even work for them sold me what I needed out of the house and made sure it fit. The names don't matter because that showed me how they opperate. I will only buy from people that care and I know they care.

i plan on using WBUSA products in the future, ive seen the vests, read reviews and summed it up

if 10 people buy vests 2 people will have negatives to say, its life. so if 100 people buy their vests then 20 of the people will not be happy

Even though I think Cutter is sucking up in a play to get free or discounted gear, I have to say the WBUSA, more specifically the boar mom has gone above and beyond for me on several occations. She has put in late days for me twice just to get me what I needed when I needed it.

I'm very satisfied with the gear also.

Defects are defects but gear wears out and needs to be replaced just like the tires on a truck. There is a difference.

Instead of a road hazzard, maybe we can get these gear companies to sell a "hog hazzard" waranty.

I've got a vest and several collars along with some miscellanoues stuff and I will continue ordering because the stuff has held up pretty good (Not the best but good overall) but they can have my order within 3 days with regular shipping and I've never had an issue/delay with any of my orders.

I have a Devestator and a Guardian... As far as getting cut through, i think the Devestator has held up alot better for me than the Guardian... However, the issues ive had with mine are the seams coming undone on the vest... ( not from being cut by hogs )

Is it possible that having several different fabricators making these vest could be the issue?
Maybe one company is not sewing the vest as good as the others...  Huh?

Vest are going to get cut regardless of who makes them, but to purchase a $200 vest and 3 months later have to throw more
money into it to have flaps, collars, straps and buckles sewn back on from faulty seams is alittle different...

I think that for alot of people ( including me this next go around ), If a vest is going to need to be fixed/replaced frequently, it will be more logical to purchase a good quality vest that is 1/2 the price ( since either one is going to get cut up regardless ) that the maker is willing to quickly replace or fix if any issue occurs...

I do think that UD has the best designed vest, and alittle stouter sewing job and an easier way to have a vest fixed would make it more justifiable to pay that amount for a vest...  Wink

As far as service on ordering from them, they are awesome!!

Boarmom do you have a way of tracking and keeping up with who each individual vest is made by?
